Q: Dear Sir/Madam, We are due to be evicted from the villa we are renting in October 2023 because the landlord wants it for personal use. We received 12 months` notice in the correct manner. We are not happy to move, as we have been living here for 7.5 years. We found a new property to rent, which is more expensive and smaller. Last week, we asked our current landlord to confirm that he still wants the villa for his family and to let us know if anything changes. He confirmed that he still wants the property. Last night, we signed a new contract for the new villa and paid agent`s fees and deposit. We will move in October. Today, our current landlord says he has changed his mind and that we can stay. Where do we stand? We feel it is too late, as we have asked many times to stay and he has always refused. Can we raise a case if he rents the villa to new tenants?

Can ex-boss demand ticket money back after I returned to the UAE?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I finished my contract and asked my boss to pay for my ticket back home upon visa cancellation. He gave me the money after I confirmed that I was not going to stay in the UAE. At that time, I was looking for a job in different Gulf countries. A couple of days before leaving the UAE, I was offered a job in Dubai and accepted it. I left and went back a month later and got my new visa after two months. Now, my former employer wants me to return the money for the ticket. He insists that I have no right to a repatriation ticket because I didn`t leave forever and came back. He threatened to pursue legal action if I refused to return the money. He considers this fraud. Is there anything in the UAE Labor Law Article 131 that obliges the employee to leave forever? What are the chances that my boss opens a case against me?

Q: Hi I have been working in a company under a local sponsor with 2 partners for the last 6 years and my visa will expire next month. However, my company has informed me that they shall transfer my visa to their other company with the same OWNER with a new partner (without a local sponsor). In this situation, what do I need to do? Q: I am a broker. The seller is threatening me. The buyer put an offer for a property.
