Q: Our office is going for a rental contract with a company (both the names on the contract are of companies). However, they want us to pay cheques in the name of an employee of the company (individual) as they have some problem with their company account. Is it legal to do so? Q: Presently I have a Dubai employment visa. I have a bounced cheque case by the bank due to the nonpayment of EMIs and they filed a case and the case is still going on in the Abu Dhabi court. What are the rights of employee in case of redundancy due to COVID-19?
Q: I was terminated from employment in June 2021 after receiving and working 1 month`s notice. I was on an unlimited contract. I am still waiting for 2 months` salary, gratuity and leave payment which my employer accepts is due but still not paid. I have raised a complaint with MOHRE and have the approval to go to Court. However, I was terminated as a result of the employer citing that due to COVID-19 they need to reduce salaries by 30%, letter dated 22nd Apr 2021. As I refused to sign, I was then terminated, via a letter dated 3rd May 2021, which stated "due to restructuring", my position had become redundant. The question is - Am I able to claim Arbitrary Dismissal for up to 3 months salary for the unfair termination?Aug 17, 2021

Q: Hello, My inquiry is in connection with a restriction placed on my wife from entering the UAE. In May this year, we flew to the Dubai airport. I was cleared but my wife was not. Please note that my wife never lived in the UAE although we both lived in Qatar. We contacted Qatar and consequently cleared the issue she had with a bank and was given a clearance letter from the bank. However, the restriction in the UAE is still valid even after we had settled the original issue. This has been ongoing for the past 3 months. How to claim the amount paid as an expression of interest?
Q: Hi, I had paid AED 20k as an expression of interest to a developer for a property on 18th June 2021. After the new phase was launched, the price and payment plan was out of my budget and hence did not go ahead with the booking. I filled up the refund form on 5th July and sent it to them. At the time of paying EoI, they promised that the deposit will be returned to my card in 2 days. I have been following up with the sales director since 5th July and he is not attending to my request and keeps saying he will check with the accounts department every time but never comes back with any update. The receipt clearly mentions that it is a refundable deposit and says "within 60 days". Please can you advise on my legal options and when can I start the legal procedure (when is considered as the end of 60 days)?Aug 16, 2021

The way of settling bank loan installments after moving to less paid job
Q: I lost my job in six months. I got a new job but with less and delayed salary. I have a bank loan and I didn`t pay for it in 6 months and pay only partially if I have money.
