I want to resign and file a case against the employer for cutting down salaries

1
Q: Hi,
I am working as an Engineer in a free zone company in Studio City, Dubai, since 2019 till date. My visa is issued in Abu Dhabi.
From March 2020, they cut down my salary & issued a letter stating that my salary has been cut down from April-20 to Aug-20 by 25%.
But even after August 20, they did not only pay me my initial salary but my salary was cut down a lot more and irregular.
The total pending is about AED 95,000+ to be received to date. Also, the company did not pay for insurance renewal and I was forced to take my own medical insurance for myself & to sponsor my wife's visa & insurance.
I have decided to resign and cancel my visa immediately due to a new job offer.
Is it better to raise the case while on their visa or after changing their visa?
Within how many days should I raise a case after changing my visa and cancelling my work permit?
Kindly provide your opinion on how to proceed.
What are the chances that I get my pending salaries in full and gratuity?

Is it fair to reduce gratuity in employee contract amendments?

1
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I have worked continuously for a company for 10 years and am now being retired. My original contract was signed in 2013. However, in 2018, we were asked to sign a new contract and were given a gratuity payment.
On 1 January 2023, we were given another new contract which further reduced the gratuity. Each new contract has reduced the gratuity from the original contract.
I understand that contract amendments should not disadvantage employees. Therefore, should the gratuity be paid at the original, most beneficial rate for the employee?

Can the landlord send me an eviction notice for non-payment despite submitting an offer and deposit at RDC? 0
I’ve lived in my building for over 4 years, with the most recent rent being AED 50,000. Each year, the management collects cheques and extra AED 2,400–2,500 cash (no receipt) for management and Ejari fees.
My contract was due for renewal on 15 Feb 2025, but management delayed, demanding a 10% rent increase even though no formal 90-day notice and the RERA index did not allow it.
After a month of excuses, the manager called on 12 March, insisted increase to 55K, and threatened eviction if I refused. When I referenced RDC, he hung up. The next day, he again made unprofessional remarks, so I decided to go with RDC.
I submitted my offer and deposit on 13th March, but the management didn’t respond. The case went to the judge on 14 April he ruled in my favor.
On 30 April, I applied for the execution of the ruling, and RDC says I can renew Ejari only on 8th May at DLD with cheques given to them.
However, on 1st May 2025, I received a notarized eviction notice for non-payment of rent and communication.
My question is, what will happen at DLD now?

Can I resign during the probation period without serving a three-month notice to take another job? 0
I am working in the private sector, and currently I am in the probation period. I got a government job, so I submitted a one-month resignation notice.
My current company rejected my one-month notice and ordered me to serve a three-month notice (as per the contract).
I enquired with One Time Centre, and as per their advice, after one month, I can stop work and register a complaint against my company.
For this matter, how will the UAE law help me to solve it?

Can the employer force the housmaid to work for unlimited hours without rest? 0
Hi
I'm a nanny, and at the same time, I work as a housemaid (khadama) here in the house. I work, but as I know, the nannies and housemaids have different rights, and my employer doesn't give me rest.
My work starts at 7:30 am and then finishes at 10 pm or less. It depends on whether the baby is asleep or what time they will take on me if not yet asleep. Is this right?
Also, at the time of eating, I'm still working because the baby is with me, so I just let her sit in her chair. That's how I eat.
Please answer me. I want to know my rights.
Because if I can leave during the 6-month probation, I want to take it if the employer is this kind. I don't know.
They are also expats, but they don't follow the rules of the UAE regarding a housemaid.

Filing a complaint against a shipping company due to delivery delay 5
Greetings,
I sent a shipment of around 40k of value to France from Dubai on the 25th of August. During the communication with the shipping company, I was informed that it will take 6-7 days.
It is the 7th of September today and until now they are unable to give me an update on where my shipment is. Moreover, this delay has cost me extra money on having to postpone the ticket of the receiver in France and his extra stay expenses.
Is there any official complaint, or any actions that I can take against such an unprofessional company?
Appreciate your reply!

A new partner is delaying the payment of his share. What to do? 2
Dear Lawyers,
I have a company in Sharjah FZ. I hold 51% shares and my partner holds 49% shares. I am the director, manager, and the sole beneficiary of the company bank account. We are both now under the company visa.
I, as the business owner, demand a few things for him to provide before he can benefit from the company. The point of the agreement is:
- The new shareholder needs to provide business development capital for AED 145,000, payment will be on several terms.
Since I made the change on the license and put him under the company visa, he has been delaying paying the capital.
I have been chasing him through messages and phone calls, but he is still not responding. This made the cash flow of the company a mess.
1. What legal step can I take to take him out of the company and seek compensation for the mess he made with the company?
2. Will it be better for me to file bankruptcy or to fight the legal action against him?
Thank you so much, appreciate your answer!

What can you do in case you got terminated for doing a side job? 1
My husband was working in a private retail company before. While he was working with them, he helped a friend sell his friend's own designs of t-shirts through Facebook.
His previous employer saw that and terminated him and they are accusing him that he is copying their designs and stealing customers by selling his friend's items while working which is not true.
He threatened my husband that they will sue him and to avoid that, they're gonna remove him from work and will pay him only the days of his work (15 days) which my husband agreed because he doesn't want any trouble.
That's what they did. They didn't pay him his gratuity for staying almost 3 yrs with them as well as airline ticket, vacation leave and public holidays.
Now it's been a year since it happened and my husband is already working with another company and suddenly his previous employer saw him in a restaurant and asked him why he is there and threatened him that they are gonna sue him still. What do we need to do? Thank you.
