Hi. One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task." He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know." After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station. They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go. After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems? If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country? Please advise!

السلام عليكم، هل يحق لي كمُدَّعى عليه في دعوى خلع وإثبات حضانة أن أتقدم بطلب إغفال لمحكمة الموضوع؟ حيث أن المدعية طلبت الحضانة فقط في مذكرتها الشارحة ولم تطلبها في مذكرتها التعقيبية والختامية وأنا في دعوتها كنت أنازعها على الحضانة وأطلبهم. القاضي أثبت وقوع طلاق بائن ولكن لم يذكر أي شيء بخصوص الحضانة واكتفى بأن المدعية لم تطلبها في المذكرة الختامية. فماذا عن طلبي أنا كمُدَّعَى عليه؟ هل يحق لي عمل طلب إغفال أم أطالب بالحضانة في الاستئناف أم دعوى جديدة؟

Hi, I've been out of work since September 2019 due to company restructuring, though I work there for more than 13 years. As of now, I still have a debt of 170k (150k as principal) with Bank M and 19k (8k principal) credit card debt with Bank F. I already contacted Bank M that I'm willing to settle the loan but if they could bring down the amount to 70k as I only have 40k on hand while I haven't talked to Bank F yet. Is there any way that we could bring down the amount? I still don't have any work until now and I'm just on wife support. Thank you and Best Regards.

The reason that I wanted to resign is that I'm being harassed by the companies he owes money as he is not paying them. Moreover, the employer is not giving us health insurance. My cousin is in the central jail of Al Awir since October 2024 till date 20/03/25. She has 6 different penal cases all judgements are done, last one was done yesterday. السلام عليكم، لقد تزوجت من امرأة منفصلة ومقيمة في المانيا ولديها طفلين من زوجها السابق وهو كان مقيم في المانيا (حاليًا مقيم بالإمارات)؛ حيث أنهم مسجلين في المانيا بالسجل المدني حتى الآن زوجين. أنجبت منها طفلاً وُلد في ألمانيا وأُدرج اسم طفلي تحت اسم طليقها، ولنفي النسب طلبت منه المحكمة مرارًا بأن يرسل إيميل أو ورقة ينفي فيها نسب الطفل، ولكنه يتجاهل الأمر لكي يضغط على زوجتي كي تتنازل عن طفليها منه. طفلي الآن (9 أشهر) لا يملك أي أوراق ثبوتية بسبب هذا الأمر. ذهبت أيضًا هناك وأجريت فحص إثبات الأبوة ولكن القاضية بالمشفى طلبت توقيع طليق زوجتي على تقرير الفحص قبل أن تسلمه للمحكمة الرئيسية لإصدار الحكم بهذا الأمر. هل هناك أي طريقة قانونية تُجبر هذا الشخص على إرسال إيميل أو ورقة إلى السلطات في ألمانيا ينفي فيها نسبه للطفل كما طلبوا منه أو على الأقل إجباره على التعامل بجدية والرد على إيميلاتهم كي نحل هذا الإمر ونوقف ابتزازه بإعاقة مستقبل طفلي وإعاقة أوراقه الثبوتية؟ أنا مقيم بالإمارات. وشكرًا

I have an inheritance judgment from Dubai family court, on my estranged non-muslim son, since 2013 and the monthly inheritance is being transferred to a bank account in Dubai by the court directly since then. I am residing in India due to old age and poor health. Can I follow up on my case without a residence visa for an enhanced inheritance?

I purchased an apartment in August 2007 which was due for handover on October 31, 2009. The purchase price was AED 1.42 million. The payment term was 50% in 7 instalments and 50% on project completion. I paid 50% as per the agreement, The developer informed me sometime in 2008 that the project was delayed due to force majeure as the substation in Business Bay was not complete. Now it is 2020 and the project is still not completed. The substation in Business Bay had been completed years ago. I would like to know if I am entitled to compensation for the delay or can I cancel the purchase in its entirety and get my money back along with interest? I had filed a complaint against my previous employer to whom I worked for 6 years and 7 months. They did not give me my End of Service Gratuity, Leaves and Salary which amount, in total, to 87,000 AED. They are now 10 months due from the time I resigned. My previous employer's legal representative first said that I am not eligible for all my claims since I did not serve notice period which is not true. I responded citing evidence and today I received a letter from them again saying that I already signed that I received all my dues. Yes, I signed the MOL cancellation, but I haven't received my money. There is no evidence that our company transferred such amount to my account. I signed because I was told that they will not cancel my MOL and I would not be able to start with my new job. I wish someone represents me as I feel like my previous employer's legal representative is only delaying what is due.

Hi, I have an LLC company here in the UAE. Due to financial difficulties, I am not able to run it further. Hence I have decided to shut down the company. I want to check how much notice do I need to give to the employees. All the employees are on limited contracts. Can I issue a 30 day-notice period letter to them for operations closure? I will give the salary to them till the last day of their service and will also provide them with airfare to get back to their home countries after visa cancellation. Also, I want to write in the notice period letter that if at all I find any suitable buyer for the company, the company shall continue under the new buyer's name. But if no suitable buyer is found till the notice period ending, I shall liquidate the company. Kindly advise on the legal complications involved in this!

مرحبًا، اشتريت عقار من مطور ودفعت نسبة 24% من المبلغ في سنة 2015، إضافة إلى حجز عقارين من المطور نفسه. تم إلغاء حجز العقارين وتحويل أموال الحجز إلى العقار الذي دفعت فيه نسبة 24%. تم التعاقد معي على أن يتم تسليم العقار في سنة 2017، وبعدها قاموا بالتمديد لمدة سنة حسب العقد، على أن يتم تسليمه في سنة 2018. تواصلت معي شركة المطوِّر لإخباري أن العقار الذي اشتريته في الوحدة المذكورة في المشروع المحدد تم إلغاؤه. قمت بمراجعة دائرة الأراضي والأملاك ولم يفيدوني بشيء. راجعت شركة المطور ولم يتم إثبات ذلك. راودتني الشكوك ولم أكمل معهم الدفعات المتبقية. فوجئت بإلغاء العقار عن طريق دائرة الأراضي والأملاك رغم تقديمي شكوى عن الموضوع الذي طرحته من قبل بشأن إلغاء الوحدة في المشروع. لم أتمكن من استرجاع أموالي بأي طريقة حيث قام المطور بالانتهاء من العقار بنفس الوقت الذي تم فيه إلغاء العقار من اسمي وتم بيعه لطرف آخر حسب ما ذُكِر لي. يُقدَّر المبلغ المدفوع بمبلغ 700,000 درهم.
