Q: Hi,
One of my employees put a case on my company for the salaries I need to pay, but the amount we need to pay is not that much.
The court asked me to pay the fees of AED 7000 for account experts to check the details. I want to know if I win the case, is that 7000 refundable?

Q: The Tawafouq centre transferred my case to the court and they gave me papers to submit in Al Adhid centre. When I went there for the submission of my paper, they took all the papers and made a file for my case.
They asked me to pay the court fee of AED 6635 to register my case in the court, but I don't have money because my company did not give me a salary for the last 4 months.
I want to know if I can pay the court fee after the judgment or its necessary to pay the court fee first then your case will be registered.
Please explain; my total amount is 131665.

Rental agency demanding full payment of legal fees after rental increase verdict
1
Q: Hi,
We have received the verdict for our rental increase case. The judge has decided on a 20% increase.
The agency is now asking us to cover all costs and expenses. Our legal advisor says that this should be shared, but they are insisting that we are liable to pay fully.
Please can you give me some advice on this?
It is written on the court verdict that: "إلزام المدعى عليه بالمناسب من الرسوم والمصاريف".

Can I proceed with my investment case without paying the court fee upfront?

1
Q: Dear Lawyers,
The judge has again rejected our second request to delay the court fees. Our lawyer has advised that we can proceed with the re-registration of the case as soon as the court fee payment is received from your end.
The court fee is 21k, which I am unable to pay. Is there any option to request paying the fee after the case is won? This case involves a 400k investment where I didn’t get my money back or any profit.
I went to court for legal action and have already paid 14k to the law firm, but now I am unable to pay further. I don’t know what to do.
Please advise!

If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country? 2
Hi.
One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task."
He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know."
After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station.
They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go.
After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems?
If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country?
Please advise!

How to file a case against my former company for unpaid salary I was not on their visa? 0
Dear Legal Advice Middle East,
I hope you are well.
I am seeking legal advice regarding an unpaid salary issue with my former employer, [-----]2 LLC. I was employed with them from December 4, 2024, to January 7, 2025, on a monthly salary of 5,000 AED.
However, I only received a partial payment of 2,473 AED on February 24, 2025. The remaining 2,527 AED is still unpaid.
I submitted a complaint to MOHRE on March 2, 2025, but I am unable to proceed further through their official channels.
This is because I was working under the visa of my previous employer, [---] LLC, and not under [----]’s sponsorship.
As a result, I do not meet the criteria to file a labor complaint via the MOHRE app or hotline.
Given this situation, I would appreciate your guidance on how I can legally pursue the recovery of my remaining salary, considering the complications related to my visa status during the employment.

How can I vacate my tenant if the rental agreement ends before the eviction notice deadline? 2
My Dubai tenant's rental agreement is ending by the end of September 2024 and the completion of 12 months of legally served Eviction Notice is the end of December 2024.
I have two questions:
(a) Can I send a rent increase notice 3 months before as the rent has increased as per the RERA rent calculator?
(b) The second question is, do I have to renew the rental agreement for 3 months (until December 2024) or not?
Thank you.

How can I reach a settlement with the bank for a mortgage of a jointly owned property? 0
I have a jointly owned property in Abu Dhabi. The mortgage was defaulted on as I had to leave the property with my children following an assault by my ex-husband. He left the country in 2018 and never paid the mortgage.
As I was in the country, the bank filed a criminal case against me, and I was sentenced to 3 years. I won the appeal against the bank and then filed another criminal case a few months later in Dubai. Again, I won and paid a fine.
In 2019, the bank started a civil case against me and my ex-husband to have the property repossessed. However, at the time of the purchase of the property, there were no Title Deeds, the bank requires this.
I cannot give them the Title Deeds to sell the property and pay back the amount owed to them as my ex-husband refuses to provide a POA. The bank has filed another criminal case against me only for our jointly owned property.
I wish to resolve this and pay off the bank and receive any money left from the sale. How can I resolve this issue of the Title Deeds?

Can a real estate agency hold a percentage of a property sale until transfer is done? 0
A real estate agency has signed an MOU stating that a 10% security deposit from the buyer and the seller will be kept in the real estate agency and will be released upon transferring the property.
The transfer of the property was blocked due to the court order.
According to my colleagues, the real estate agency is not a trustee and they are not allowed to have taken my security check in the first place, is this correct?
