A client is not paying while 95% of work is complete. What to do?

Q: Dear sir/madam, I am an interior decor contractor. My client kicked us out of a site that was about 95% complete, on a flimsy pretext. Then he brought in another contractor to complete the works citing issues with my work (without a joint inspection). I am completely broke due to the nonpayment from his side. How can I recover my balance payment (up to when we stopped)? We have a DIAC arbitration clause in our contract.

Q: Good day everyone! I am looking for some advice. We are renting a bedroom hall for 40000. Our contract will end in November. He sent us a notice informing us that he will increase it to 50000. I have asked them to lower it. He made it 48k increase, but he is increasing over the rental index. As per Land Department, the rental index is 6k. Q: Good morning, Last 9 June, I bought a 2nd-hand car. Then, after a few weeks, the fuel tank had a major leak. So I had to rush it to an independent garage for repair. A few more weeks passed, the Check Engine and Transmission warning light keeps on turning on, so I had to rush it back again to a garage. This time I went to the Ford Al Tayer service center. They found out that the car has a lot of issues, and they gave me a quotation that amounts to almost AED 24,000. What are my consumer rights regarding this problem? Can I still have my money back? العميل سدد المبالغ التي استخدمها ورفض دفع مبالغ الفائدة البنكية. هل يجوز ذلك؟

س: السلام عليكم، هل يحق للبنك في إمارة دبي أن يرفع دعوى جنائية أو مدنية ضد عميل لم يسدد مبالغ الفائدة بل سدد فقط المبالغ التي قدمها البنك أصليًا (مبلغ القرض فقط)؟ منحه البنك بطاقة ائتمانية بحجة أنه "قرض حسن بدون فوائد"، وبعدما استخدم العميل البطاقة الائتمانية بفترة زمنية قصيرة وفجأةً تم إرسال رسالة إلى العميل تفيد بأن هناك مبالغ متراكمة بسبب الفائدة البنكية بقيمة ٤٠٪؜ من القرض الأساس المُقدم إليه. علمًا بأنه تم تزويد العميل بالبطاقة الائتمانية عن طريق البريد السريع لعنوان منزله بدون طلب رسمي من العميل بذلك، بالإضافة إلى أنه لا يوجد أي من المستندات التالية بين البنك والعميل: ١- عقد. ٢- اتفاقية. ٣- شيكات كضمان. ٤- سند أو شريعة أو قبول خطي أو غير خطي أو توثيق يتضمن أي توقيع من الأطراف؛ بمعنى آخر، لا يوجد أي اتفاق على الإطلاق. العميل سدد المبالغ التي استخدمها ورفض دفع مبالغ الفائدة البنكية المضافة سالفة الذكر. الرجاء الإفادة ولكم جزيل الشكر!

Removing a travel ban after paying the fine for a misdemeanor case

Q: Hello people, Once I pay the fine to the court for a misdemeanor case, can I ask the court to remove the travel ban imposed on me? And could it be removed almost immediately? Please explain! I’m not so aware of the UAE’s penal code. Many thanks!

استئناف حكم عمالي بمثابة الحضوري بزعم عدم استلام الحكم الابتدائي

س: السلام عليكم، لدي قضية عمالية حُكم فيها بمثابة الحضوري في 13/04/2022، ومن ثَم أعلنت الخصم بموجب طلب قدمته للمحكمة، وبعد الإعلان تم عمل صيغة تنفيذية والإعلان للمرة الثانية بالتنفيذ في 03/08/2022. تقدّم الخصم بتسجيل دعوى استئناف على الحكم الابتدائي بزعم عدم استلام الحكم الابتدائي بالرغم من أن الإعلان كان بنفس طريقة إعلانه بالصيغة التنفيذية. رجاء الإفادة عن مدى قانونية دعوى الاستئناف!
