Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I have been terminated from my company with a 30-day notice period after serving 11 months. According to my manager, my role has become redundant, and they aim to reduce expenses.
However, they did not mention any reason in my termination letter. Moreover, they are requesting me to train my replacement during my notice period.
I would like to understand if I can receive compensation due to unfair termination and whether I am obligated to provide training to my replacement.

Terminating an employee's limited contract due to poor performance

1
Q: Hi,
I am working on a 2-year limited contract in an LLC company, Abu Dhabi as a vehicle sales executive.
Now I have completed nineteen months in this company and my employer has given me a warning letter based on performance.
My question is: can the employer terminate me before the contract expiry? and if he terminates me based on performance, do I get three months' salary and get a labor ban in this case?
I hold a bachelor's degree.

Leave entitlement in case of less than one year of service

Q: I have a couple of labour issues.
I worked for a company for 7 months, and I was lied to regarding my visa status while I was working. It was said it was possessing while it was not, and I also received a false labour contract which I later found out.
Once I finally received my visa, I had a death in the family so I wanted to take my emergency leave.
My employer said it will be an unpaid leave, so I replied I thought I can get 30 days paid leave after my probation period, then he replied bring in your passport for termination.
I just needed to leave the country for 2 weeks for the funeral even if he would have said that he could not pay for the leave it would be ok, but by terminating me instead, I thought it was a wrongful termination.
When I came into the office they told me it was because of poor work performance, which was not true because I never received a prior documented notice with my signature regarding poor work performance.
What legal actions can I take towards this case?

Can a company fire me falsely claiming platform closure and withhold payments unfairly?

1
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I joined a well-known and reputable company in June as an e-commerce sales executive. After three months, they fired me, citing the reason in my termination letter that they are closing their online platform.
This claim is absolutely false, as the platform is still operational in the UAE. It feels completely unjust despite my hard work and proven sales record, once their platform was established, they simply terminated me.
After my termination, they gave me an additional 30 days to find another job, stating they would not cancel my visa during this time, apart from the standard 14-day notice period.
I recently spoke to a friend who was also terminated under similar circumstances. The company refused to pay him for no valid reason and deducted money from his dues as fines or penalties.

They hired me from London and, within a month or two, are considering firing me even though they haven’t provided the tools or training needed for the job.
Do I have legal grounds to sue if I am let go?

How can we claim our money back if the cheque we received have bounced for insufficient funds? 0
We received a cheque which has now bounced. We have tried for over a month and a half now to get a new cheque from the person, and every day he says the next day.
We need the money now. We have been to the police station, and they said they can not do anything as the reason the cheque bounced is "Insufficient funds."
We have been to Al Barsha - Dubai Courts, and they said there is nothing they can do about it.
We are not sure what we can do. We need the money asap to pay our kids' school fees, let alone all the interest we have lost.

Who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer? 0
Hello
I joined my new company on February 26, 2025. Upon joining the new company, I asked HR if it was free to join the company, and she said yes.
After working with them for 1 month, I experienced a salary delay, and I had to go to the office to ask why there was a delay in my salary.
That is when the HR told me she deducted my whole salary to recover the transfer fee.
Now my question is, who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer?

After 11 months of work, how many leave days is an employee entitled to? 0
Hello,
I want to inquire regarding my leave privileges. I am now 11 months in my company. How many leaves am I privileged to?
Based on Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 regulating labour relations and its executive regulations, you are entitled to a paid weekly rest for not less than one day, as specified in the work contract or the work regulation.
The Council of Ministers may increase the weekly rest day stipulated in this article. The Decree-Law and its executive regulations also stipulate that you are entitled to an annual leave with full pay as follows:
- Thirty days for each year of your extended service.
- Two days per month in respect of any employee with more than six months and less than one year of service.
- Leave for parts of the last year of your service in case it is terminated before you use your annual leave balance.
Now my question is: do I have 22 days I can use? Can someone explain to me in detail?
Thank you!
