1
Q: Sir, I have taken an office in Dubai for three years starting from 1st April 2015 to 31st March 2018. Due to slow business conditions, I am forced to reduce expenses and planning to vacate current office and move to a smaller one. Unfortunately, there is no early termination clause in the lease agreement.
Please advise what is the penalty in such cases as per government law.
Thanking You, Kind Regards.... Kuttan

My previous organization has not yet released EOSB because I contacted a client. Is this legal? 0
I recently joined a new organization in the Hamriyah Free Zone, and my previous organization has not released my end-of-service benefits.
The HR has instructed the finance team not to do so because I had contacted one of their clients.
In my DMCC contract, there is no Non-Compete clause, but the offer letter has one, and now they are not releasing the end-of-service.
Is this legal? What are my rights?

Can I renew my trade license and visa if I have multiple cheque execution cases filed against me? 0
Hello,
I have multiple cheque execution cases filed against me due to financial strains last year.
My trade license and visa will expire next month, along with my Emirates ID.
Is it possible for me to renew my license and visa along with EID prior to settling the execution cases?
The trade license and visa were issued by the free zone authority.
I look forward to your response.
Thanks.

What can a company do if an employee agrees to stay but then stops reporting to work? 0
Hello,
My employee provided a resignation. Our company offered a salary raise and made a deal with him where he agreed to continue with us, but it’s not on paper.
He suddenly stopped coming to work, stating he doesn’t want to work anymore.
What rights do we have as a company, and what can we do about it?

Is it possible to close the main office of a company and keep the branch? 0
Hello.
We have 2 tourism LLC companies registered in Dubai, UAE. Nr. 1 is registered as the main office on the trade license and Nr. 2 is registered as a branch office on the trade license.
We want to close the main office and shift the main office to Nr. 2 which is currently the branch office. We have been told that it's not possible since the trade licenses can't supersede each other.
Does any lawyer know a way to shift these offices without facing any financial and legal trouble?

Obtaining a succession certificate to get father's funds released from a Dubai bank 1
Dear sir/madam,
My father recently passed away in India and we would like to obtain a succession certificate in order to have his funds released from a Dubai-based bank.
My mother and my 2 siblings are UK nationals living in the UK. I am aware that we need to provide our passport copies, a certified death certificate (UAE Embassy in India), and two male witnesses to confirm our family members.
My questions are the following:
1. Do the two male witnesses have to be UAE nationals? Or can they be British nationals?
2. Will they be required to attend a Dubai court? Or can they confirm remotely via letter/email or phone?
I would be most grateful for your assistance.
Thank you for your time!
