Q: Good evening Sir,
I am H., working as Asst. Manager under an unlimited contract, and now I completed 4 years and 10 months at this company.
I have resigned from the job effective 01.06.2019, and on a 30 days notice period. My boss instructed me to withdraw my resignation letter and give an apology letter, but I refused politely.
Last week, they accepted my resignation and they instructed me to vacate the accommodation. On 16.06.2019, I vacated my company accommodation and handed over all the things that belong to my company.
The facility of the motor car was revoked on May 30. My HR manager said (verbally) you can stop your duty, but he is not ready to send an official email.
Still, every day I am going to the office by taxi. Now, they are forcing me to sign the cancellation paper. I asked about my gratuity but the HR manager is saying you have to sign cancellation paper letter we will process your gratuity.
Sir, I am kindly requesting you to advise me on the procedure of how I can solve this issue in a professional way.

I have resigned from my company and it has been 2.5 months now. They are asking me to sign a letter which says that if any recovery doesn’t happen with the vendor, they can legally claim it from me.
I have an offer from another company but since I am not getting the cancellation papers, I am not able to join them.

Q: I submitted my resignation and served my one-month notice. My company asked me to sign the cancellation papers, however, mentioned that they cannot pay End of Service Benefits now and that they will pay in future.
As I am going back to my country permanently, what is the best way to get my due payments? I heard raising a complaint and the due procedure take months to settle.

Can you file a labor case for holding EOSB without affecting your new job?

Q: My son works in an education provider company in Dubai. He started the job on 22 November 2018. He is resigning on 06 June 2022.
The company told him that they need 3 months notice period. So he completed it. Now even though the company is enormously profitable, they are not ready to pay his gratuity.
His take-home salary is 4250 but his basic salary is shown as AED 500 (which is notoriously low). As per my calculation, he is eligible to get AED 1300 at least, but the company says they will not pay and he has to sign a no-dues certificate.
They said if he did not sign, they are telling him they will not hand over his degree certificate (again holding illegally without any proof) and the last month's salary.
My son worked so hard for them and he really deserves that settlement.
What will he do in this situation?
If we file a complaint in the labor court, does this become an issue for his new job joining?

Q: I joined the company (Media City free zone) on December 4th, 2023, and resigned on February 15th, 2025. We agreed that my last working day would be April 15, 2025, as my contract specifies a two-month notice period.
Yesterday, March 25, 2025, I received an email from the HR department requesting that I sign the visa cancellation letter today or before receiving my end-of-service payment and final salary.
I have researched the DMCC and UAE laws and found that I should not sign any visa cancellation letter until I have received my payment.
I was provided with a final settlement letter from the company yesterday. The amount mentioned is correct; however, the letter includes clauses related to the payment that I do not agree with.
According to my research, and in line with UAE law, there is no legal requirement for employees to sign an internal release or waiver to receive these statutory entitlements.

One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task."
He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know."
After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station.
They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go.
After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems?
