Non-renewal of a limited labour contract by the employer

Q: Dear Sir, I am working in a company as Manager and the limited contract would be expired on Dec 29, 2017. 10 days before, I received a notice from the employer that they are not interested to renew my contract, without stating a reason. After inquiry, they mentioned that it is due to the restructuring and not related to performance. Since I have a family and kids are going to school, we are under severe pressure. I am in a senior position and it would be difficult to find out a job in 45 days, which puts me and my family in severe mental trauma. Please let me know if I can request the company to renew my contract until I find a job with a minimum salary as maintenance allowance. I am in the UAE since last 11 years and this is the first situation where I am passing through. Please advice and let me know what are my rights. Thanks and regards.

Forcing renewal upon the expiry of a limited employment contract

Q: I was working with a company in Abu Dhabi since 2014 and successfully completed my 2-year limited contract. Now, I sent a non-renewal letter to my company after finishing my contract, but they are forcing me to sign one more contract and not releasing me by saying that I am supervising many projects and I cannot leave suddenly. It is very important for me to go back to my country and solve my personal problems. kindly suggest, what should I do? I have already booked a complaint against them in labour but I am worried that through labour dept. it will take time as my employer always skip court hearings. Kindly suggest and also correct me if I am wrong, do the employee in a limited contract need to give notice period before the expiry of work permit?

Q: My limited contract has finished on 07 April and I'm still working and receiving my salary, however, my employer hasn't notified me yet about renewing the contract. Possibility to hold renewing a labour contract for a few months

Q: Hi, I am on my father's visa. My labour contract in a private company is getting expired in April. I want to apply for 6 months long leave and planning to rejoin by August. Will there be any issue if I leave early without renewing my labour contract which is due in April? Will the expense incurred by the company to renew my labour contract in April (which is not possible since I would be on leave) and the expense to reapply for another labour card when I return from leave in August be the same? Please note that I am not on the company's visa.

Consequences of the early termination of a renewed limited contract

Q: Dear all, I completed an initial 2-year limited contract which ended in January. Now we will sign a new contract, likely also limited. If I did not continue my employment (i.e. renew), I think I would be entitled to 42 days of EOSB plus one month of annual leave not taken. If I sign a new limited contract with one-month notice period but leave before the end of that contract's term (and before completing 5 years of service), do I lose that accrued EOSB even though I completed the first contract? Plus would I be liable to pay a 3-month penalty?

After 11 months of work, how many leave days is an employee entitled to?

Hello, I want to inquire regarding my leave privileges. I am now 11 months in my company. How many leaves am I privileged to? Based on Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 regulating labour relations and its executive regulations, you are entitled to a paid weekly rest for not less than one day, as specified in the work contract or the work regulation. The Council of Ministers may increase the weekly rest day stipulated in this article. The Decree-Law and its executive regulations also stipulate that you are entitled to an annual leave with full pay as follows: - Thirty days for each year of your extended service. - Two days per month in respect of any employee with more than six months and less than one year of service. - Leave for parts of the last year of your service in case it is terminated before you use your annual leave balance. Now my question is: do I have 22 days I can use? Can someone explain to me in detail? Thank you!
