Checking for court cases filed against a person in the UAE

The lawyer you hire will conduct a complete check with relevant UAE courts to find out whether or not you have any lawsuits filed against you. No need to visit UAE courts personally, your attorney will do it on your behalf. Just submit online the required documents, and within few days you will get results of the check from the lawyer by email.
This service requires Power of Attorney from you to the lawyer. Other documents necessary to make the check on court cases filed against you include clear coloured copies of:
- your valid passport,
- your residency permit (residence visa page),
- your Emirates ID.
This service is right for you if you would like to know whether or not you have any court cases filed against you in the UAE and you have no time or ability to run the check by yourself.
What's included
- Complete check within the courts of one emirate only. The lawyer will make the check on possible lawsuits filed against you through the court system of one emirate of your choice (i.e. only Dubai, or only Abu Dhabi, or only Sharjah, etc.).
- Power of Attorney drafting. If necessary, the lawyer will provide you with the electronic draft of Power of Attorney in English and Arabic languages.
- Email report. You will receive the results of the check from your attorney by email. The results will indicate whether you have any cases against you registered in the court system of a particular emirate, and if there are any – brief information about the cases filed including the case type, case number, a subject of the lawsuit and a name of the plaintiff.
- General advice. If it is found out that someone has registered a court case against you, the lawyer can give you general advice on the next steps needed to handle the situation.
- Privacy. The personal information you share and everything you discuss with your lawyer is protected by attorney-client privilege.
What's not included
- Check within the courts of more than one emirate. If you need to run the check through the court systems of other emirates, you need to purchase this service separately for each emirate.
- Lawsuits details. The lawyer will not provide you with detailed information regarding the detected court cases if any. If you need to get more details (beyond the basic information contained in the report), you have to hire the attorney for extra work.
- Power of Attorney. To make the required check, you have to provide the lawyer with a Power of Attorney. All related expenses including but not limited to legal translation, attestation, courier delivery, etc. are on you and shall be settled separately.
- Travel ban check. If you require this service, you can purchase a check on a possible UAE travel ban and arrest warrant separately.
- Additional work. Any services of the lawyer beyond conducting the above-described check will require a separate agreement.
This service will provide the complete understanding whether or not there are any lawsuits against you registered in the court system of a particular emirate. If your situation requires additional work – for example, you need to conduct the same check in other emirates – you can talk to your lawyer about hiring them for extra work.
