Can you file a case from Europe against a person in the UAE to return borrowed money?
Q: Hello, I sent money to a North African person over five years ago when he was still in his home country in Africa, and I also gave him some money in cash in his country once. At that time, he was just about to move to Dubai and promised to pay me back all the money when he would be working in Dubai. He hasn`t returned any money despite many reminders. He is still in Dubai, I live in Europe, and have never been to Dubai. Can I file a claim in Dubai Courts to make him pay? Of course, nothing was agreed upon about applicable law as it was a friendly loan that was supposed to be paid back while he`s working in the UAE. Questions & Answers

I seek to cancel a purchased property and get refund for delay in handover

Q: Hi, I have been working in the same company in Dubai for around 5 years. As I got a better opportunity, I gave resignation. In between my notice period, I came to know that I am pregnant. A friend took a bank loan and credit card on my name and disappeared. What can I do?

Labor rights the employee can claim in case of terminating the contract by the employer
Q: I was working in a private company registered in the mainland of Dubai for more than 4 years on an unlimited contract. My visa was due for renewal on 14 February 2022. However, my employer has given me a 30 days` notice (as per the contract) of contract non-renewal on 17 January 2022 stating my contract will finish on 17 February 2022, although the visa expired on 14 February 2022. I have completed 4 years and 27 days with the company. Now my question is, will the non-renewal of the unlimited contract be considered as termination by the employer since the company has given the notice to me? In such a case, what will be the basis for gratuity calculation? Will it be 21 days for each completed year (since the employer issued the notice) or 14 days? Questions & Answers
