I have a misdemeanor case. How many hearings and timelines would it take for this case to finish?
Q: I have a misdemeanor case hearing in misdemeanor circuit court, I`m the complainant (insult over messages) and the accused (insult in public). No witness exists, I may have confessed in a message. Will the 2 parties be in the same room at the same time during the hearing? 3. Can I hire a lawyer and let him deal with this rather than attending hearings? My husband passed away and I received a court order. How to release his funds from the bank?
Q: Hi, My husband passed away and I received a Court Order from ADJD stating that I am the manager of his estate. When I visited the bank, I was told that I should send a request through Dubai Courts to the bank to release any pending amounts in his accounts and that I could collect via Dubai Courts only and not from the bank. Please advise what is the procedure for raising the request through the Dubai Courts system. Thank you! Questions & Answers

Q: I seek your assistance with an ongoing legal issue. I paid 18,000 AED to A. M. S. M. H. and M. I. for business registration, but they failed to complete the process, causing additional losses (14,011 AED govt fees + 1,100 AED visa charges). How can I reach a loan settlement with the bank on relaxed payments instead of one-time payment?
Q: I lost my job during the pandemic and had to leave the UAE. After one and a half years, when I returned to the UAE, the bank`s collection department had filed a case against me. My original loan amount was only 91,000 AED, but with profit, it increased to 134,000 AED. I have been paying regularly, and now I have only 59,000 AED left. I asked the collection department to offer me a reasonable repayment solution, suggesting a settlement of between 20,000 and 25,000 AED. However, they demanded a one-time payment of 50,000 AED, which I cannot afford due to a lack of funds. Now, they are threatening to file another case against me with a travel ban. I would like to know if the collection department can file a case against me and if the judge would help provide a reasonable payment solution. I have repeatedly asked the bank for a more reasonable settlement amount, but they refused and insisted on filing the case. Questions & Answers

Getting my children back from the UAE after my ex-husband took them to avoid divorce
Q: Hello, I`m in Canada, and I filed for divorce. My husband, who owns a real estate company in Abu Dhabi, kidnapped our children and took them to the UAE to avoid the divorce and force me back to him. My children are twin boys, 8 years old, and a 10-year-old girl. What can I do? I want to follow them and take my children back, but he says his local Emirati connections will file criminal cases against me and have me jailed if I go there. What can I do remotely? Does the UAE return kidnapped children to their mother? In the UAE, a guardian cannot legally kidnap their own child; what does this mean for my case? If I report him, what happens to my children? Will they be held until I arrive to take them? Questions & Answers
