Q: I received an unsolicited call on a Saturday night (6.06pm to be precise), on my mobile phone in my place of residence from a lawyer (think he`s actually a partner) claiming to represent my ex-wife in a matter pertaining to a divorce agreement that was ratified in Zimbabwe at the end of August. There was no formal notification in writing that their services had indeed being retained by my ex-wife. I am not sure if he followed due process & his threats could be construed as coercion in a matter that was all but resolved.

How long does it take to get UAE employment visa after I accepted a job offer?

Q: Hi, I got a paper and I signed it. That paper included the following: "This job offer has been made up of three counterparts duly signed by both parties. Each party shall receive and retain a copy thereof and the third one shall be submitted by the first party to MOL as a prerequisite for issuance of the work permit." The paper also had first party signature, as the second party signature was mentioned my name, and I put my signature. I got the letter in September 2017 but have not received the visa yet. How long is the time of validity of this letter? Shall I get the visa? Or the company can stop this letter?

Q: Hi, I was working in the UAE with a construction company and got a new job offer from another company. I signed that offer letter and also cancelled from the old company. The offer letter was signed by both parties. Now I want to go to my country but the company is saying that there is no need to go as my company visa will be changed here. But I have to go for some personal reasons. If I go to my country is there any problem for my new job? Can the company withdraw my job offer? Please tell me any solution of this.

Q: Suppose the employer finds out that the employee has been contacting his clients, and selling vendor products to such clients and accepting money. This has been captured in a CCTV footage, submitted to the police and the case is being under investigation. Now, the employee does not report to work and files a case in the MOL for overtime and not salary, as the salary is paid on time and payslips are signed by the employee. Since based on the final judgement, all the benefits for the employee may be nullified as per article 4 of the preamble, can the employer request the MOL to defer the hearing in the case till a final judgement is received in the police case? Pleases advise if any other means can be taken.
