Regulations for establishing a company by foreigners in Iran

Salam Alikom

If an investor wants to open a company in Iran, what are the laws regarding the limit of expatriate shareholding?

In case the expatriate can't own the majority of shares, is there an option for full ownership in a free zone?

Hello

I don’t know what you mean by "expatriate shareholding" but here is some general information.

Foreigners can establish a company in Iran. This company would be considered as Iranian. The nationality of the shareholders does not have any effect on the nationality of the company.

Company establishment for foreigners was derived from the Constitutional Law and Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Act.
