Dealing with a pool contractor who used faulty materials causing leak?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I am looking for some advice. Twelve months ago, we hired a contractor to install a concrete pool. To date, we haven`t been able to use the pool due to a leak. They keep trying to "fix" it, but I have no confidence in them anymore. Last week, another contractor came to the villa to look at it testing some of the fittings that I thought could be the reason. He removed some of the fittings and gave me a gut-wrenching comment. The concrete used for the pool is, in his opinion, "not good." What course of action can I take now? I paid deposit for a car from a dealership to discover the car has hidden defects. How to get refund?
Q: My wife and I went and saw a car at a dealership in the Sharjah car market. The dealer claimed the car had a very minor accident. We asked for some scratches to be fixed as a condition to buy, and he agreed. We paid 1000 dirhams and signed. later, he asked for another 4000. I transferred another 4000 online to him, so in total I paid 5000 Dirham, and sent him a note about the expectations, and he responded back with “agreed” on Whatsapp. A few days later he said the car is ready. We went but none of what we agreed on was done. He asked us to come back again on Monday. On my request, he sent this note on Whatsapp and agreed to refund the deposit on Monday if the car was still not ready. On Monday the car wasn`t ready. I asked for my refund as he agreed before but he refused. I asked for a receipt of my 4000 payments. He forged the document and added a note about the 4000 on the document that I already signed, to make that a non-refundable! I had a case and the bank gave me a no-liability certificate after settlement. How to clear the case?
Q: I had a court case in 2019. I paid 52500 dhs to the bank after settlement. The bank gave me a no-liability certificate but is very slow in withdrawing the case to get clearance from the court and submit it to the police station. I need to go to Abu Dhabi as soon as possible. Can I apply for a visit visa while the case is still in the judiciary system? Will it get approved? Q: Hello, Is it possible to negotiate with the bank to consolidate my loan and credit cards balance when I`m outside the UAE? I have already resigned and relocated to another country. I`ve left a remaining loan balance of AED 170k + 2 credit cards balance (10K + 34K). My gratuity (33k) is being held by the bank and I missed this month`s loan payment. I don`t want to incur more interest by paying only the minimum on the 2 cards and wanted to negotiate with the bank to consolidate all debts into a single monthly payment.
