Status of the tenancy contract when the landlord is changed
Q: Hello, I have just renewed my lease in Dubai a few weeks ago with a property management company, and have been informed today that the property has been sold and I should start interacting with the new landlord. Should I sign my lease again with the new landlord? Can I refuse to sign a new lease and pay all fees again until the lease renewal expires?

Will I be arrested in GCC countries for my UAE credit card debt?
Q: Greetings, I was terminated by my company in May 2016 because they were cutting the number of staff. I had a credit card with 10,000AED that I used fully. I was unable to reach the bank and so far I have never received any call or email from them. I was struggling with unemployment all this time and couldn’t pay my debt, I have no intentions to not pay because it’s Haram/prohibited in my religion. Recently, I got a job offer in another GCC country and I want to go there and pay my debt using my salary. My question is, will I be arrested in that GCC country at the airport? I don’t know if a police case has been filed against me or not, what I know is I am morally obligated to pay my debt and the only way I can do it is if I start that new job, my family is poor and my country has no job opportunities. I’m afraid to be detained and sent to the UAE, this will not solve the issue, nobody will be able to pay for me and jail won’t solve the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. Regards.Sep 24, 2017

Employer's right to deduct debts of employees from their end of service gratuity
Q: I was working in a company in the UAE for five years. In the UAE they do not have a retirement plan for expats, only End of Service Allowance (EOSA). My employment contract is an open contract. No contract duration. I had taken a loan from the company. I borrowed the funds to support my children education. I had been approved for the loan given I have a salary. The company decided to terminate the employment of about 400 employees. I did not request to be terminated. No package was given at all for compensation except EOSA plus ticket and freight cost. I recently received the company Draft Final Settlement document whereas the EOSA amount that I was hoping to use to survive and provide food and shelter for my family was taken away completely and applied towards paying the loan. They fired me, I did not ask to be fired. They have broken their side of the contract. What legal recourse do I have for not accepting the company literally taking away my EOSA and leaving me bone dry?Sep 22, 2017

Can I claim compensation if I've been falsely accused of a crime?
Q: There was a criminal complaint made against me and my husband and both of our passports were held by the public prosecution. After 8 months of investigations, the public prosecution has now only charged my husband and has released my passport. Can I open a case against the complainant for the harassment that I faced for 8 long months and mental trauma that I went through? What to do if your new employer does not provide you a visa
Q: Hello, I have been working for a company for more than 3 years, then I got selected for a new job. The new company requested me to resign and requested for the cancellation asap. They have given me the offer letter at the start which is signed by both. I manage to resign without serving my notice period so I didn`t get my gratuity and I have given them all the documents and the cancellation required for the process of my new visa. Today it`s more than one month and no visa processed yet. I have consumed all the legal days of staying in the UAE. Q: How can I check my type of ban? I am a businessman. I used to travel to Dubai for business purposes. And I had residence visa for a long time. But in 2014, when I travelled to Dubai, I was taken to Al Aweer Central Jail from immigration of Dubai International Airport. And they took my fingerprints and eye scan.
