Status of the employee at the end of a limited labour contract
Q: Dear Ma`am, My limited contract expired on the 22nd of November 2017, and my visa will expire on the 20th of January 2018. Is it possible for the employer to give me a non-renewal at this stage i.e. on 10th of January 2018? They have not renewed my contract to date. Is it an offence from the employer to decide a non-renewal at this point? Kindly share your opinion. Your suggestions are really appreciated as soon as possible. Thanks

Refund case against the developer for project over-delay
Q: We are based in England, and we have invested in one of the projects called Lawns III at Jumeirah Village, Dubai in April 2009. We paid about AED 448335 to a company called DEC LLC, P.O. Box 333876, and came to know that the project did not even start. Now, we are chasing to get the refund with no answer from them and would like to know our right to get the refund in full with no delay. Safeguarding the transferee interests in a share transfer
Q: We started a company in 2011 in JLT Dubai with X and Y as shareholders registered in the Memorandum of Association "MoA". The MoA and trade license confirm me as a manager and authorised signatory. In 2015, shareholder X gave me a letter signed by him on company letterhead, granting me 15% of the company shares. Q 1. Claiming a personal debt with post-dated cheques
Q: I was persuaded by my friend to put money in an online trading, and he will trade on my behalf and will share the profits. He guaranteed me that he will trade very carefully and the principal amount will not decrease, but he lost all the money in one night which is AED 35000. Q: Respected Sir/ Madam, My name is Rehna PG, living in Kuwait with my cousin. My husband divorced me and married another woman 7 months back. He was working in Dubai during 2004- 2008 time, and in 2008 he lost his job and came back to India with me. He got many credit card and loan liabilities and did not settle all those liabilities till now yet. I have two kids. I got a job in Dubai now and need to work there for a living. Claiming benefits for termination without a valid reason
Q: I am working in the HR department in one of the private companies for the last 12 years. Last week I received a redundancy letter from the HR manager terminating me for reducing people. However, the actual reason is something else. I have sent an email to our company helpline on the HR manager and complained about him, and he came to know that I have sent an email to the senior manager. Failing to pay the final instalment for a purchased off-plan property
Q: I`ve signed a unit reservation form back in September 2016 for an off-plan project. At that time, it was 40% completed. I paid until mid of 2017 10% of the value of the property, as the 90% was set to be after the handover. Now, the handover started and I can`t continue to pay any further amount. Working beyond the notice period specified in the contract
Q: I am currently working for a free zone company in DAFZA. The job is not going well for me and I would like to leave. I signed a three-year contract and it has been nine months so far. My contract states that I need to give one month notice but my employer wants me to stay for two months. He says it is company policy not to accept the breach of contract compensation, hence I must serve two months without pay. I am supposed to pay him for three months half pay, and he is refusing to allow me to pay that and serve one month notice. I am even thinking of just absconding and going back to my country. Will I get a labour ban and immigration ban? I received an offer from one of our clients as well, but my contract has a non-competition clause. Does this apply, given that the two companies are in different industries, one is a supplier of products and the other is a consultancy service provider? I am considering going back to my home country as my employer is being unreasonable on the 2 months notice.

Q: Hello, I received a job contract and I`d like to know if it is legal in terms of the UAE labour law to put such a statement in it: "The employee will bear the visa expenses, relocation expenses and all other applicable expenses incurred by the agency during the recruitment phase, in case of leaving before completing the first year".
