Consequences of leaving the UAE without visa cancellation
I returned back to my home country without cancelling the employment visa.
Now, it has been one year in the home country. Could I possibly take another visa to search for jobs?
Dear Questioner
Please note that what you have done is considered a violation of the Ministry of Human Resources regulations as well as a violation of the Department of Immigration rules.
Each worker, upon termination of his employment period or whenever he wishes to resign, has to formally cancel his employment and residency permit before he exits the state.
Generally, if you are out of the UAE with a valid Residency Visa for a period more than 6 months, the residency visa becomes in default and is considered as void. It has to be cancelled and resubmitted again.
Additionally, your former employer has the right to file an absconding complaint against you and request to apply a labour and immigration ban on you for the loss he bore because of your actions.
