Accepting an offer - can silence be deemed consent?
Q: Dear, In some contractual correspondences/variance order proposals, I noticed that: "If you don`t respond within this certain time frame this document stipulates, the T&Cs are considered as accepted from the date the document is received". Complaint against employer for entitlements and passport
Q: Hi I have logged a complaint against my employer yesterday because he refuses to pay my end of service benefits + 2.5 months` salary, neither is he willing to give me any post-dated cheques. After 48 hours, the legal team from the labour office will call us. I served my notice period with my last day being 6th Oct 2018. Termination due to redundancy and notice period
Q: Hello. I have been working for one company a year and a half. Yesterday, I was told that due to redundancy they don`t require my services. The letter they gave me is extremely controversial- stating that my contract is terminated with immediate effect, and on the other side, I am asked to serve a one-month contractual notice. Claiming the bounced cheque amount after criminal court judgement
Q: For a 100,000 bounced cheque, the decision from the criminal court is 20,000 fine and pay the full amount. My question is that, before the civil case is made, does the travel ban still exist or it`s removed after the sentence from the criminal court? Should an agreement be made between two parties to avoid the civil case (need to pay to the civil court)? Clearance of a bounced cheque case to get a new visa
Q: Dear Sir/Ma`am, Please tell me what I should do next after being imprisoned for a month and paying the fine for a bounced cheque (unpaid salary loan as I lost my job). They did not give me a receipt and/or any sort of clearance after paying, They just let me out of the jail. I am still in the UAE and will join a new company. Will I be able to get a visa? Significance of the job title and designation on labour contract
Q: I had signed an unlimited contract with a Dubai based company. In the offer letter, I was given a designation as Business Manager with salary AED 30,000/month. However, in the MOHRE contract, my designation is showing Sales Executive having 4th/5th level skill. When I inquired from them, they told me that the designation in MOHRE contract will not have any adverse effect during my stay in Dubai and they have mentioned 4th/5th level skill in the contract because my certificates ( B Tech ) are not HRD attested ( in India ) and they will not be able to wait for long for this attestation. My questions are:- a) Is this procedure legal i.e. getting a person of Engineering degree in 4th/5th level skill set? b) Will it be possible to change the skill level in MOHRE contract if I get my degree attested by HRD and UAE consulate after I land in Dubai? c) What are the possible issues that I will face?Oct 8, 2018

The possibility of appealing a jail sentence for bounced cheques
Q: Hi, I needed to know if the court issues a judgment of 2 or 3 months jail term in cheque bounce case, is there a way to reverse the judgment or avoid the sentence? Possibly if the creditor withdraws the case? I have received a judgment of a jail term of 2 months for AED 1 Million security cheque bounce against a loan that is 75% paid off and a 3 months jail term for multiple cheques to a single supplier valued at AED 48,000.00 approx.
