What to do if you cannot pay the fine of bounced cheque
Q: Hi. I have an issue. My passport is with the police due to a case. I couldn`t pay the fine and now again my friend requested to schedule a new public prosecution request. However, my family also arrived with residence entry but I couldn`t do the stamping since I lost my job. Now, I am jobless and trying to get a new job, but my family is with me. No visa stamp is done after one month has passed. I don`t have money to pay my fine. Please give the best advice on what to do. I am out of money. If I get a job, I don`t know how I can give my passport to the new employer. Please help me.

Partners liability for bounced cheques issued by the director
Q: I am a 49% shareholder in a 10-year-old LLC Company. We have a separate Managing Director that has no shareholding in the company. I was out of the country for an extended period of 5+ months and recently returned to the UAE. 2 weeks after my return, I discovered that salaries had not been paid to staff for the month of July. I queried the Managing Director who was away on annual leave at the time. He told me the company was expecting money in. I then checked with the accountant who told me the company financials were in a dire situation and updated me on receivables and payables. The Managing Director then proceeded to serve 4 weeks notice to resign. After this, I discovered that several company cheques that he had written to suppliers had bounced and were in fact PDC`s, some of which had been issued several months ago. My questions are: 1. What recourse do we have against the MD for these liabilities? 2. What would be our best course of action to minimize shareholder liability?Aug 21, 2018

Holding gratuity and labor entitlements after resignation
Q: Hi, Good day. I have been working with a company for 5 years and a half. Then I applied for my resignation (with a 1 month notice period as per my contract) and my service ended on June 30, 2018. A month after, my manager contacted me and asked me to sign some "pre-termination" paper. When I asked about my gratuity payment, He mentions that I can get it within a month or two and that if I still didn`t receive it, I can still have grounds for complaint that I can submit to the Ministry of Labour. However, I still declined to sign any letter. They then just told me that they`ll contact me if ever the cheque is ready. My question is: - Was my action right by not signing any papers considering I had no guarantee of receiving my gratuity? - Also, since I`m still looking for a job currently (and I want to settle things amicably), is it an option for me to simply just wait it out until they contact me again with regards to my cancellation and gratuity? Can the employer extend the probation period?
Q: My probation period is 90 days and my employer has told me they will extend for another 90 days due to issues noted by my line manager. The reasons for the extension were not fair (personal rather than performance) but I was too afraid to challenge in case they terminated me on the spot. I have also since found out they have already started looking for a replacement for me and the extension appears to have been a ploy to terminate me quickly and cheaply once this person is found.
