Q: When my wife came to the UAE on an employment visa and she did her medical fitness test, she failed due to a lung scar (Old TB). How to know the reasons why the bank froze my accounts and release it?
Q: Dear Sir/ Ma`am, My bank in the UAE has suddenly frozen/blocked my credit card and both my accounts without any prior intimation/information. After taking up the bank several times, the bank informed me that this has been done upon the instructions of the Central Bank and there`s no reason given. It has been more than a month and the status quo is maintained. I urgently need to access my accounts since I am in urgent need of funds for medical and personal reasons. I do not have any previous cases nor any pending fines, civil/criminal cases, etc and I have always been very prompt in all my payments for more than 27 years. My questions are: 1) Why have my accounts and card frozen/ blocked (without my intimation)? 2) When will they be unblocked/released? (these are my life savings). 3) Can I travel back to the UAE safely without any action taken against me and my family? (presently I am out of the country). Thank you very much for your kind advice. Is there an expiry date to raise a civil case for bounced cheques?
Q: Salam Alaykum. I filed a civil case and I got a settlement where I received half the funds in cash and the rest in three cheques. At the same time, I lifted the travel ban. Three cheques bounced to me and that person ran away from Dubai. A month later in 2012, I opened a criminal case, and the accused was sentenced in absentia to a couple of months imprisonment. Will my case have any timeframe? When will it expire? According to the new cheque law, can the accused clear the criminal case? What should I do to extend the validity of my case to receive funds in the future if the accused decided to come back to Dubai? Best regards.

How to remove a rent case against me due to a cheque forged on my name?
Q: Back in 2017, I opened a bank account. Somehow the person I previously worked with got his hands on one of my cheques and used it to pay for rent where he lived. I had no idea. I went back to my country around 2019. I never signed the cheque he forged my signature and I had no name in the Ejari or tenancy contract. Still, the Dubai Land Department accepted the case. I came back to the UAE on a visit visa just a month ago in 2022 October. They stopped me at the airport and said I have an RDC case registered. The case was closed 2 times since then but every year they activate it and the total amount I have to pay is 23,300. Can you please advise me on what I should do?
