Salary and passport hold by an employer: What to do?

Good day,

I resigned from my current employer within the probation period as I got another offer. Now my current employer has held my salary for 45 days stating it is visa cost.

Also, they are not releasing my passport.

Kindly suggest what can I do.

Dear questioner,

The worker can submit a complaint to the Ministry of Labor over the phone on the website.

If your employer keeps your passport and refuses to return it to you, you can go to the nearest police station, or you can go to your embassy in the country to file a complaint.

Please be aware that you have all the necessary rights and privileges to have your own passport and you have all the rights to question your employer if your employer insists on keeping it with him.

I hope what I mentioned above makes the point you are asking about.

For help, kindly contact me via phone or email.

Dear questioner,

It is not permissible to withhold the salary.

Submit a complaint to the Ministry of Labor and Workers.
