Q: Dear Sir/Madam, We are a company located in Ras Al Khaimah. We have been working with a company in Dubai that is not paying us on time. The current balance due is 142K and we have all the necessary documents (invoices, balance sheet) with their stamp. Can we file a case against them? Note: We also have two pending cheques from their company, but it looks like they will bounce.

Employer ignoring return request after family emergency - can I work elsewhere?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I returned to my home country due to a family health emergency, with the consent of my employer after a prolonged debate. My Employment status is just two months old. I have been in continuous communication and have been asking to rejoin since October 8, 2023, but he says they do not need me and is ignoring my communication. My visa status is active. Can I return on my own ticket and work elsewhere until he finds out I am back? In the meantime, I can look for another job if he does not get ready. He is asking for a visa amount of 7200 to recall me, but without rejoining the company. Please suggest a way for me to return.

Q: My father died recently. We are Muslim residents in Dubai. I have siblings including a minor who is 16 years old. My father has land and vehicles under his name. How to enforce an execution file for alimony and maintenance if my ex-husband offers settlement?
Q: Hello. The question is about my execution file in the Court of Personal Status in Dubai. In 2013, a judgment was made for the father to pay AED 2K monthly for Nafaqa (alimony) and AED 40K annually for house rent. However, the father consistently delayed payments, despite having a monthly income of AED 30K. I attempted to settle the matter through court procedures in 2015 and 2017, but the father didn`t follow through. By 2021, the outstanding amount was AED 145K, leading me to request an arrest warrant. The father claims he`s not working, but I am aware he`s involved in a construction business with his brother to avoid court responsibilities. He has no property or financial resources to block. In 2023, the outstanding amount increased to AED 206K. The father hired a lawyer to remove the arrest warrant, and now they seek a settlement. The court admin insists I attend the settlement meeting.
