I have a personal loan. When is a travel ban supposed to be issued?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have a personal loan, and I received an offer in another non-GCC country.

I approached the bank, and the representative informed me that I can make payments from outside, and the bank will initiate legal action only if two consecutive months are unpaid.

However, I want to know if the bank will issue a ban immediately after receiving the final settlement, or if they can only file a case if the security cheque bounces for two consecutive months.

Dear Sir/Madam,

The bank can file an execution case against you if you have defaulted the amount normally for more than 3 months.

But before that, you will be receiving several notifications from the bank through mail and phone and you can convince them during these stages as well.

Even if they filed the case, we can submit the objection to the court to stop the proceedings against you.

If you need further clarification, we will discuss more. Share your WhatsApp number to proceed.

Dear Questioner,

Yes, they can open a case against you, but we can settle it through various procedures.

If you have a ban or any other case, we will ascertain this by contacting all relevant authorities to check if there are any cases against you.

Initially, you need to create a power of attorney for our legal office, granting us the authority to conduct the investigation.

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.

The bank in the UAE may take legal action if you miss two consecutive loan payments, and the security cheque bounces.

However, if you plan to settle your loan, coordinate with the bank to ensure the settlement is documented and accepted.

For any further legal assistance, you can WhatsApp us. We have an extensive team of knowledgeable and experienced lawyers to provide the legal assistance you need.

We will be happy to help you.

Thanks & Regards,

Dear Sir/Madam,

When dealing with a personal loan in the UAE and planning to move to a non-GCC country, it's crucial to understand the potential legal and financial implications to manage your obligations and avoid any adverse outcomes.

Banks in the UAE have specific protocols for handling loan repayments, particularly when borrowers plan to leave the country.

If the bank representative informed you that you could continue to make loan repayments from outside the UAE, it means the bank is providing you with an option to manage your loan without defaulting.

It's essential to maintain open communication with your bank and ensure that you adhere to the repayment schedule agreed upon.

Banks in the UAE can request a travel ban or file a legal case against borrowers who default on their loans.

However, a travel ban is generally imposed through a court order, and not automatically upon the final settlement or if you leave the country.

The bank would first need to file a legal case citing the default, and a judge would decide whether a travel ban is warranted.

To avoid any legal complications, it's advisable to make all loan repayments on time, even if you're outside the UAE.

Most banks offer online banking services that allow you to manage your loan from abroad.
