Falsely arrested, bail rejected. How to expedite release?
Dear Sir/Madam,
My cousin was falsely arrested a week ago on charges of possessing drugs for distribution. A medical exam was conducted, but we have not received any results yet.
The lawyer mentions that it is still pending, even though it has been 8 days. The lawyer requested bail, but it was rejected, and now his detention has been extended for another 2 weeks.
Is it possible for the results to take this long? What would be the best way to expedite the process and secure his release? He is currently detained at Al Muraqqabat police station in Dubai.
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.
The time it takes for drug test results to be processed can vary, but it's unusual for it to take 8 days.
To expedite the process, you and your lawyer can follow up with the court regularly, ensure all necessary paperwork is submitted correctly, and inquire about the status of the medical exam.
If you believe there are delays or issues with the case, consult with us about the possibility of filing a habeas corpus petition to challenge the detention.

Dear Questioner,
Medical test result timelines depend on test type, workload, and complexity. While eight days is longer than usual, it's not entirely unreasonable.
The decision, including bail considerations, hinges on the nature and seriousness of the offense, influenced by the test results.
