Can I resign just two months after renewing my visa without any issues?

Hello,

I just renewed my visa after completing a 2-year contract.

It has been only 2 months since the visa renewal, but I want to resign now.

Will there be any problem if I resign?

Most likely, you will need to pay compensation.

Hello,

UAE labor law requires employees to give notice before resigning. The length of the notice period is usually specified in the employment contract.

Generally, the employer is responsible for visa costs. However, the contract can specify certain conditions under which the employee might bear some costs, but these conditions are limited and must be compliant with the law.

If you resign shortly after the employer pays for your visa renewal, they might try to claim you are liable for these costs.

If you need further clarification, you may ask us.

Dear Inquirer,

We are pleased to serve you and address your inquiries.

You can do that, but you must refer to the provisions of the contract and the law regarding the consequences of that.

Kindly contact us via email or call our offices in Dubai or Sharjah.

Hello,

Since you have already renewed your visa after completing your 2-year contract, you are legally allowed to resign, but certain conditions apply.

Under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 on the Regulation of Labour Relations, specifically Article 43, you are required to provide your employer with the agreed notice period, which is typically 30 to 90 days depending on your contract.

To avoid any legal or financial issues, it is advisable to review your contract for any penalty clauses and ensure that you serve the proper notice period.

If you need assistance in reviewing your contract or handling your resignation legally, you can contact me via phone or email at [-----------].

Dear questioner,

If there is no compensation mentioned in the contract, then there will be no issues.

If you need any clarifications, kindly share your WhatsApp number.

Thank you for your inquiry!

If you have renewed your contract, you are obligated to fulfill the notice period as specified in your contract, typically 30 days.

Failing to do so could result in the employer claiming compensation for the remaining notice period.

However, if you decide to resign without serving the notice period, you may face consequences as per the terms of your contract.

Alternatively, if you are facing difficulties with your employer regarding the visa cancellation or resignation, you can file a complaint.

Please let us know if you need further assistance with this process or have any other questions.

Best regards,
