9
Q: I am on a limited contract and rendering my 30-day notice. I am in my 4th month and still under the probationary period.
My internal contract says that if I resign in less than a year, I have to pay the visa costs. But on the other hand, the contract that was submitted to labor doesn't have a clause about the visa costs.
Is it valid for them to let me pay the visa costs?
Will I get banned if I don't pay?

Can I leave my job during probation period without paying training charges?

5
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
What if I resign from the company during my probation period?
My contract, Article 4, mentions that I have to pay 6,000 AED in training charges if I leave within one year of the contract.
My offer letter states that training charges will be compensated, if incurred.
Will I be able to leave the company, or can they file a case against me?

Does UAE labor law require a notice period for resigning during probation?

1
Q: Dear Lawyers,
I was employed by a private company during a six-month probation period ending on July 11, 2024. On July 1, 2024, I submitted a resignation letter with the intention of providing a notice period until July 26, 2024.
However, my employer refused to accept the notice period and stated that I am only obligated to work until the end of my probation. They are requiring me to pay for the visa expenses incurred during my employment before they will cancel my visa.
My offer letter specifies that the first six months are considered probationary, allowing both parties to terminate the contract without notice or liability. However, the offer letter also mentions adherence to UAE labor law.
I have the following inquiries:
- Notice Period During Probation: Does UAE labor law require a notice period during probation, even if the offer letter states otherwise?
- Visa Expenses Liability: Am I legally obligated to pay for the visa expenses incurred during my probationary period when I resigned?

What can I do if I resign during probation and the employer asks for compensation?

0
Q: Hi,
I am now serving my notice period in the company in my probation period.
However, they are asking me for a 7000 fee which I am not aware of. I was told that I agreed to this and signed the contract which is not true.
I repeatedly requested a copy of my contract for months, yet I have not received any.
Due to the lack of response, I checked the contract through the app and found that it was electronically signed.
I do not recall signing this contract, nor did I receive any digital copy to sign. What should I do?

The public prosecution appealed a judgment to increase the fine I already paid. What do I do now? 0
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your time.
The public prosecution appealed my judgment (a fine that I satisfactorily cleared) and requested increasing the fine.
Can you please explain what happens during a criminal case appeal hearing for me as a defendant?
Will I be asked questions?
Is the hearing just for the Public Prosecution to present their appeal to the judge, and I do not need to give a response?
Thank you again for your time.

I received a termination letter from my company on January 31st, 2025, with a one-month notice period, stating my last working day as February 28th, 2025.
The reason given for the termination is "considering the current business scenario, the company has considered measures to reorganize the business."
Could this be considered arbitrary dismissal?
Am I entitled to any compensation or benefits from the company as a result of this termination?
