Do I have to cover visa costs for my boss if I resign before the visa ends?
Dear Sir/Madam,
Do I have to cover visa costs for my boss if I resign before the visa ends? I don't have a contract.
Thanks very much!
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.
In the UAE, even without a written contract, labor laws still apply, and it's generally the responsibility of the employer (sponsor) to bear the visa cancellation costs when an employee resigns before the visa's expiration.
This is in line with UAE labor regulations.

Dear Questioner,
If it is an employment visa, then there will be a contract for obtaining an employment visa for you.
The contract will mention whether you are required to reimburse the visa costs in case of early termination.
So please talk with your employer for clarifications regarding the contract.
