Q: I have resigned from my previous employer on 11 February 2020. I worked with the company for 10 years now.
The company owes me a gratuity amount of AED 90,000. They earlier assured me they would pay my end of service in part.
However, they have been ignoring my emails, phone calls, Whatsapp messages...etc. It's been almost more than 45 days now.
Can someone let me know how can I proceed legally with this and will I get my end of service?
They have been doing this to other previous employees and don't care about the UAE law. It's a free zone media company in Abu Dhabi.
Please help.

Leaving without visa cancellation and checking a case or Labor ban
4
Q: Good evening,
My name is Dr Randeep Singla.
I joined one hospital in Abu Dhabi in November 2016. Due to some family crisis, I had to leave my job one month after and came back to India without visa cancellation.
The employer threatened me with an absconding case at that time. Since 2016 I have not travelled to the UAE.
Currently, I have another job offer from the UAE and want to pursue it.
Is it possible to check for labour ban or blacklist status before I apply for my next visa?
Kind regards,
Dr R. S.

Trapped in the UAE with expired visa and fines. What to do?
5
Q: Good day,
I have an issue regarding my visa. My contract with my previous job ended on July 12th of last year. They canceled my visa on July 18th, leaving me with one month remaining in the UAE.
Unfortunately, I unintentionally lost my passport at that time and was unable to renew my visa before it expired. I was also processing my new passport, which is why I overstayed in the UAE.
My previous company filed an absconding case against me and I now have fines to pay. I have all the necessary documents to prove that I did not have my passport at that time.
I went to the AMER in an attempt to reduce my fines and I also have a new offer letter from a new company I applied to. When the AMER attempted to reduce my fines in their system, it showed that immigration blocked me.
I need to go Al Awir Immigration. They said I need a letter from the new company to remove my absconding.
Please tell me what should I do about this.
Thanks!

How can we claim our money back if the cheque we received have bounced for insufficient funds? 0
We received a cheque which has now bounced. We have tried for over a month and a half now to get a new cheque from the person, and every day he says the next day.
We need the money now. We have been to the police station, and they said they can not do anything as the reason the cheque bounced is "Insufficient funds."
We have been to Al Barsha - Dubai Courts, and they said there is nothing they can do about it.
We are not sure what we can do. We need the money asap to pay our kids' school fees, let alone all the interest we have lost.

Who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer? 0
Hello
I joined my new company on February 26, 2025. Upon joining the new company, I asked HR if it was free to join the company, and she said yes.
After working with them for 1 month, I experienced a salary delay, and I had to go to the office to ask why there was a delay in my salary.
That is when the HR told me she deducted my whole salary to recover the transfer fee.
Now my question is, who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer?

After 11 months of work, how many leave days is an employee entitled to? 0
Hello,
I want to inquire regarding my leave privileges. I am now 11 months in my company. How many leaves am I privileged to?
Based on Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 regulating labour relations and its executive regulations, you are entitled to a paid weekly rest for not less than one day, as specified in the work contract or the work regulation.
The Council of Ministers may increase the weekly rest day stipulated in this article. The Decree-Law and its executive regulations also stipulate that you are entitled to an annual leave with full pay as follows:
- Thirty days for each year of your extended service.
- Two days per month in respect of any employee with more than six months and less than one year of service.
- Leave for parts of the last year of your service in case it is terminated before you use your annual leave balance.
Now my question is: do I have 22 days I can use? Can someone explain to me in detail?
Thank you!

What can I do if my neighbors are constantly doing construction work and constantly drilling? 0
I live in a townhouse with a shared wall with my neighbors. They are constantly doing construction work and constantly drilling on the shared wall.
They said it will last for 2 months, working 6 days a week. It is driving us crazy, and there is no way to live this way, and I have to work from home.
I am very stressed. What is the immediate solution, please?

Father passed away. What are the procedures to sell his property in the UAE? 3
Hi,
My family lives in Ireland and we are Irish citizens. We are not UAE residents nor do we have citizenship. I am the eldest son in my family.
My mother and father own property in Dubai, UAE. My father passed away last year. He did not have a will. I have his original death certificate.
My siblings and mother have granted me Power of Attorney to sell the property. I have notarized, authenticated, and legalized both these documents with the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and the UAE embassy in Ireland.
The title deeds for the property are currently in my mother’s and father’s name. We have the keys to the property and the title deeds. I wish to sell the property as soon as possible to divide the proceeds with my family.
Would you be able to advise if I can fly over to Dubai to complete the sale of the property?
Would I need to transfer the names of the title deeds from my parents' names to my name first? What extra documentation would I need?
Thanks!
