Employer ignoring return request after family emergency - can I work elsewhere?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I returned to my home country due to a family health emergency, with the consent of my employer after a prolonged debate. My Employment status is just two months old.

I have been in continuous communication and have been asking to rejoin since October 8, 2023, but he says they do not need me and is ignoring my communication.

My visa status is active. Can I return on my own ticket and work elsewhere until he finds out I am back? In the meantime, I can look for another job if he does not get ready.

He is asking for a visa amount of 7200 to recall me, but without rejoining the company. Please suggest a way for me to return.

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.

If your visa status is active, you have the right to seek alternative employment in the UAE.

Ensure you have officially terminated your current employment contract, communicate with your current employer regarding your intentions, and consider the financial implications of their request for a fee.

Document all correspondence with your current employer for reference.

For any further legal assistance, you can WhatsApp us. We have an extensive team of knowledgeable and experienced lawyers to provide the legal assistance you need.

We will definitely be happy to help you.

Thanks & Regards,

ABDUL WAHIED

What about the amount for the visa that he is asking for, for which he took two employees as guarantors?

Dear Questioner,

You need to talk with your employer because in case he puts you in absconding status, it will be complicated.

Also, if you are in a probation period, you are not required to compensate your employer.

If you join another firm within 3 months, your new employer can compensate the previous employer for the visa costs.

Dear,

Hope you are doing well!

You can return back as he can not cancel your visa if you are outside the country.

Best Regards,
