Can I refuse the rental increase if the landlord did not mention it in the notice?

Hi,

I have been provided with a 90-day notice regarding my renewal but the amount was not mentioned (told over the phone that it will be 1000 more than the previous year).

However, when I tried to renew my contract, they told me that the rent has been increased by 4200 more than the previous year.

I have read somewhere that if I am not given a notice wherein the rental increase amount is not mentioned in a written document, I will be able to renew with the same contract as the previous year.

How should I file for that?

Dear,

You may file a complaint against your landlord for not providing you with a proper rental increase notice at the RDC (Rental Dispute Centre).

Regards.

Is there any way where I can directly submit my cheques at the RDC and the Ejari can be renewed from RDC?

The notice must contain the amount required for the specific increase in terms of renewal or percentage.

Visit the Rental Dispute Settlement Center, deposit the rent with them, and request that the landlord be required to renew the contract.
