Q: Dear sir/madam,
I was born and brought up in the UAE and lived there for 18 years. My family owns 2 properties and a business in Sharjah and Dubai. In 2017, I was deported for a mistake I made because of a bad influence, and my future was ruined.
It was a genuine mistake of using illegal substances (Marijuana) in Sharjah. While I was imprisoned in Sharjah, I did not get any proper representation or chance to speak to a lawyer or the judge and was directly deported on a special pardon in October 2017.
My parents have tried removing the ban from MOI Abu Dhabi with a special pardon but have got rejected every time and now we lost hope and ask you to help in this situation.
I have not done any criminal activity or illegal activity before this. My records are clean. I really wish to get back to my family. Please help me in removing the ban. I have recently heard of the new law which has been imposed since January 2022 with no mandatory deportation.
Will this help my case in any way?

What are the chances of lifting an immigration ban drug case?

3
Q: Good morning.
My wife is Philippino national and I am a UK national working in Dubai.
In March 2016, my wife was arrested and charged with the Abuse of Psychotropic Substances. She was sentenced to 1 year in jail.
After 6 months she was deported back to the Philippines (September 2016) and is now on the immigration blacklist, I have had this confirmed. At that time she was single, we met later.
I understand it is legally possible to get her name removed from the immigration blacklist, but my question is have the UAE courts ever lifted an immigration ban for someone jailed for a drug offense?
I understand the law is rarely ‘black and white’ but would appreciate a legal view.
Obviously, I would like my wife to join me here in Dubai and I’m just trying to understand if this is actually feasible or we should just accept that we will have to live apart while I work in the UAE.

What to do after being caught with a small amount of weed and released with a case number?

1
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
My friends and I were caught at home by the CID with a small amount of weed after one of my friends deposited funds in an account to purchase cannabis at the end of 2023.
We all tested positive at the CID headquarters, admitted that we had it for personal use, and were transferred to a police station.
We were released after 24 hours with a case number, but we still haven’t spoken to anyone, and we don’t know what the next step is.

How can we claim our money back if the cheque we received have bounced for insufficient funds? 0
We received a cheque which has now bounced. We have tried for over a month and a half now to get a new cheque from the person, and every day he says the next day.
We need the money now. We have been to the police station, and they said they can not do anything as the reason the cheque bounced is "Insufficient funds."
We have been to Al Barsha - Dubai Courts, and they said there is nothing they can do about it.
We are not sure what we can do. We need the money asap to pay our kids' school fees, let alone all the interest we have lost.

Who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer? 0
Hello
I joined my new company on February 26, 2025. Upon joining the new company, I asked HR if it was free to join the company, and she said yes.
After working with them for 1 month, I experienced a salary delay, and I had to go to the office to ask why there was a delay in my salary.
That is when the HR told me she deducted my whole salary to recover the transfer fee.
Now my question is, who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer?

After 11 months of work, how many leave days is an employee entitled to? 0
Hello,
I want to inquire regarding my leave privileges. I am now 11 months in my company. How many leaves am I privileged to?
Based on Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 regulating labour relations and its executive regulations, you are entitled to a paid weekly rest for not less than one day, as specified in the work contract or the work regulation.
The Council of Ministers may increase the weekly rest day stipulated in this article. The Decree-Law and its executive regulations also stipulate that you are entitled to an annual leave with full pay as follows:
- Thirty days for each year of your extended service.
- Two days per month in respect of any employee with more than six months and less than one year of service.
- Leave for parts of the last year of your service in case it is terminated before you use your annual leave balance.
Now my question is: do I have 22 days I can use? Can someone explain to me in detail?
Thank you!
