As a result, he could no longer afford to go to work while not being paid. Both he and the employer opened a case with the labor. We traveled home for Christmas and while there received a message from labor that complaints on both sides were dropped. We returned to the UAE in January and he started a new job. But the immigration officer advised me to clear my absconding with the employer first then go to pay or reduce the overstay fines which I'm completely not aware of. Then I approached my employer to give me a NOC or lift the absconding case against me and I agreed to pay any associated charges. But my ex-employer refused to clear my absconding case and told me that they can't do anything in this matter and were advised to take out a pass to exit the country.
