Q: Hi, My business partner has on numerous occasions falsely accused me of theft of company property. These accusations were made by email and in a legal notice from his lawyers, and I have proof of all communication as well as my innocence. As well as that all of his accusations are without any proof whatsoever. There is already an ongoing criminal case between myself and him as he physically attacked me a few weeks ago. I want to know what I can do to stop him from constantly sending me emails accusing me of theft and threatening me. Can I take out a case against him for false accusations? Thanks

Q: There was a criminal complaint made against me and my husband and both of our passports were held by the public prosecution. After 8 months of investigations, the public prosecution has now only charged my husband and has released my passport. Can I open a case against the complainant for the harassment that I faced for 8 long months and mental trauma that I went through? My request for releasing my passport by substituting someone else's was also rejected 4 times without giving any reason within this period and I could not travel even though my child and my mom were unwell.

Q: My brother in law is in jail for taking AED 12 million from his company and he is in jail (Abu Dhabi, UAE) under remand. I don't know whether he had taken the money or not, but his employer is saying he had taken it and given him a confession letter. I don't know about the confession they took. I had not seen him because it happened last week and I am not able to go and meet him as it is very far from my house and also I have no blood relation.  I need to take permit from the prosecution department. I trying to meet him by next week. Kindly advise me what I need to do. Also, advise me on: 1. Suppose the above thing has happened, how many years he needs to be in jail? 2. If it is a false case by the employer, how will we prove his innocence? 3. Will the court give a chance to him to prove he is innocent and how? Please note that he has no advocate. 4. I assume this will be a false case as the employer is saying he started doing so for the last three years. This company had every year annual audit and they did not find.

Q: Hi, I've worked 8 years and my company fired me a month ago while I'm on vacation for accusing me of stealing 10K (AED). They have evidence and show my signature that I signed last 2019; it happened 2 years ago. I asked them to show me a CCTV that I took the money but since it happened 2 years ago, my company cannot provide CCTV footage or eyewitness. Now they file a case against me in Dubai and I have provided all evidence to the police station where they opened the case. I am still waiting for the results of the prosecutor's decision. 1. Can I still get my end of service for 8 years and my last month's salary if ever I win or lose?

Q: My friend was falsely accused at the police station of not paying back the money he owed, but my friend didn't know the man who said he owed him the money. The man lost contact with the police after he went to the police station. The police can't contact him now. My friend also has no way to leave Dubai because of this case. How can my friend leave Dubai now?

Q: Greetings, We have issued a Letter of Purchase Order (LPO) to our subcontractor for a project. The payment from the main contractor has been delayed. To speed up the process, we have asked the main contractor to pay the subcontractor on our behalf through a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Since the LPO is from our company, the subcontractor has asked us to give a security cheque in case the payment is further delayed. We have issued the cheque along with a letter stating that they have to return the cheque upon receiving the cheque from the main contractor. The guarantee cheque was used after 3 months even after getting the payment from the main contractor. The subcontractor has started communicating with the main contractor without keeping us in the loop. Due to cash flow problems, we were supposed to leave the project. Can I approach the court asking for the same/twice the amount as compensation due to a breach of trust and a similar amount as a conflict of interest?
