We do offer a free consultation in limited circumstances where a certain matter or case may require court representation.

However, the free consultation should ideally lead to a future retainer agreement with the client.

I am currently working for a company in Dubai since Nov. 2017. Previously, I worked in a home-based job in Abu Dhabi.

I used to manage software development teams back in India in this previous company. Before I left the company, I was developing a mobile app for the company.

We are already planning for the phase 2 of this project as phase 1 was already released. I passed my resignation by October 1 and ended my work there by October 31.

They released my papers and I am able to work here in Dubai. Months after, they asked me if my fiance and I can do the phase 2 of the project (without any written contract), we tried to work on it.

My fiance worked on several parts, but due to our full-time job, we couldn't continue the project.

After several months, I told my previous employer we couldn't continue working on it. He said he would ask for a legal advice in the court in Abu Dhabi.

I am worried about this case. What can you advise me?
