Q: I am a tenant in a commercial building in Bur Dubai. My neighbor has put her medical clinic signboard on the outside wall, right outside our door, while the wall is completely within our designated area. I have spoken to the management company in the building, and they do not want to get into any complication, so they are simply avoiding and ignoring.
The medical clinic patients mistake our shipping company as a clinic and enter, and because of this signboard, my office looks like a clinic from outside, and is very unprofessional for a logistics/shipping company. What should I do?
I agree it is a small matter, and I'm willing to compromise and allow my neighbor to have half the wall, but right now its quite unfair on us and I want a resolution to this. Kindly advise.

Assistance in refunding of capital invested
0
Q: Hi,
I am currently having an issue due to 2 investment policies that were grossly and unethically mis-sold from a reputed international bank...
I did not pursue this thru a court of law, but managed to get my complaint to the very top of the organization by the grace of God over several months of exchanges and dialogues. But since the dialogue has always been with a corporate and having no legal help, even though the bank has consented to return 75% of my loss at the further end of many months ...on the capital, I still feel that the bank is not being fair with me with what their stance is...
And I badly need someone with a legal eyes to help me know if I am being again cheated & taken for a ride by the bank, when they should have minimum returned my capital and compensated me for the stress, strain and pressure that I had to endure over a 10 months period ...after raising my 1st complaint...

Shall we claim additional variation?
If they refuse to pay additional variation, shall we cancel the contract? (we are willing to pay the entire amount including advance)

Claiming debt with a cheque from a person who left the UAE
4
Q: Dear Sir.
I had been facing a problem that I lent some money to a colleague in an emergency situation, but now he ran away from Abu Dhabi without any information.
I tried to contact him in his own country, but he is not cooperative. I had collected a blank cheque from him before 4 months for security.
Is it valid to file a case? Because he also cheated other colleagues financially. I need your support.

What can be done if your customer is not paying your invoices?
10
Q: My firm (based in the UK) is owed $57,500 for providing materials and event management services for a Dubai-based business called International Premier Tennis League.
They have failed to pay my invoice or any of the individual skilled craftsmen and technicians I recommended they hired to deliver the events which we delivered in December 2016.
What I'd like to do is recover my money and possibly make sure that the business behaviour of the IPTL management team is not repeated (it must be a crime to commit business services to a project without ever having the means to pay for it).
Any help or advice appreciated, please.

Q: Hi,
I did a project on last May in Dubai World Trade Center. I took this project from one agency in Dubai, they didn't pay any money until now. They are saying we made many mistakes.
Basically, we were having an issue with a time delay to stand hand over and some graphics issue. Even they didn't pay any single amount for this, no advance at all and I don't have LPO also but I have their email correspondence if I go legal.

View allTerminating an employee after sick leave and claiming compensation 0
Hello,
My employer fired me under Article 44 for not showing up for work for 7 days in a row. But that’s not the case at all. I was sick and the management was aware and they let me go.
I went to another country to get treatment because it’s expensive in Dubai. My employer did not pay me my salary for the month I worked and fired me.
I have official sick leave from another country and there is correspondence where my employer sent me to another country for treatment.
The problem is that the employer says that he will take compensation for the training that was specified in the contract, but I did not undergo training at all; I immediately started work from the first day of work and there was no training.
Does my employer have the right to charge me such a fee and not pay my salary?

How to make the seller hand over the tenant's security deposit to the buyer upon completing a sale? 0
Should the seller in Dubai hand over their tenant's security deposit to the buyer upon completing a sale?
Who is responsible for managing this process?
At the time of the exchange, the broker said he would follow up with the seller and collect the deposit.
He hasn’t, and the seller has not handed over the deposit.

How to cancel the MoU to buy an apartment with the broker if the bank did not approve the loan? 0
Hi,
I have a situation where I signed an MoU and gave my security deposit to the seller's agent. However later, the bank valuation of the property is lower than the selling price.
On my MoU, it has a clause that “the buyer has a right to cancel/negotiate if the bank valuation is not the same as MoU.” I tried to negotiate, however, we didn't agree on the price so I asked to cancel.
Now the agent is threatening me that they will not cancel the MoU and that will deposit my cheque. Later I also came to know that the person I am dealing with is not the same person whose name is mentioned as a broker in the MoU.
The agent I am dealing with is constantly messaging me with threats. I decided not to speak to him and instead, I wrote an email to the broker whose name is mentioned on the MoU but received no response.
I am on a very tight timeline as I need to vacate my apartment in 3 weeks, I found another unit but I don't know if I can pursue this while the initial MoU still not canceled.
Please, I need advice.
