What can be done if your customer is not paying your invoices?
My firm (based in the UK) is owed $57,500 for providing materials and event management services for a Dubai-based business called International Premier Tennis League.
They have failed to pay my invoice or any of the individual skilled craftsmen and technicians I recommended they hired to deliver the events which we delivered in December 2016.
What I'd like to do is recover my money and possibly make sure that the business behaviour of the IPTL management team is not repeated (it must be a crime to commit business services to a project without ever having the means to pay for it).
Any help or advice appreciated, please.
We can assist you to start a claim for the above-mentioned amount against IPTL company and to claim compensation, and legal fees as well.
You will have to present a proof of your claim, for example, services and materials supply contract, purchase orders, invoices, proof of delivery of materials and services, emails or letters correspondences between your company and the Dubai-based company.
We can start by sending IPTL a formal legal notice, if they do not respond we can proceed taking formal legal action against them before the Dubai Civil Court.
Of course, we will have to see the contract to understand if you have chosen a different jurisdiction to regulate your relationship.
All the documents have to be legally translated into Arabic as the official language of the country. Average legal translation cost is AED 80 per page.
The Court fees based on the claim will be around $5,000 "of course payable in AED" and the legal fees can be capped to an amount of $6,000
