Is it legal to work in the UAE without a work permit?
2
Q: I have been working for an individual as a private accountant for over a year now. My contract says that I'm not an employee but a consultant.
I am sponsored on my husband's visa and have a NOC from him to work. However, I'm not set up as a freelancer and my employer hasn't provided me with a labour card or work permit.
It has been brought to my attention that I may be working illegally so I would appreciate some legal advice and for someone to look over my contract.
If I'm working illegally then I will quit immediately but I need to know my rights and do not want to breach my contract if it is enforceable.
I look forward to hearing from someone.
Thanks.

The precautions when working as a freelancer while being under 18 years old
0
Q: Respected sir,
I am a student and I am 17 years old. Recently I found out that I can make some money by sitting at home and doing online surveys. I need that money so that I do not bother my parents with my small needs and also will, in turn, help them to save money.
My question is that: is it legal and safe to do these online surveys?
On the website, it is mentioned that if I am above 13, I can do these surveys.
Please guide me!
Yours Respectfully,

How can a freelance tour guide claim the pending dues from a travel agency?

1
Q: Dear sir/madam,
I was a licensed tour guide in Dubai from 2019 until the beginning of 2020. I was working as a freelance tour guide and was pregnant, then the pandemic hit.
The travel agency I work with did not pay me. They always promise to make their payment but did not happen. I kept my follow-up until now.
This travel agency is still running and had a good business run when Expo 2020 opened and Dubai is open for tourists. Until now they are not paying what they owe. What shall I do?

What are the legal requirements for hiring therapists in a mobile beauty business?

1
Q: Hello,
I have set up a mobile beauty business in Sharjah under a free zone and plan to offer home beauty services through my app platform.
I hold a trade license, but many therapists I am hiring do not have their own trade licenses and are already employed by other salons. I need clarity on the legal requirements for them to work under my business:
1. Can freelancers legally provide treatments under my trade license without needing their own trade license?
2. If they have a UAE residence visa (e.g., sponsored by a family member or another employer), can they work for me with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and a MOHRE work permit?
3. If a MOHRE work permit is needed, how do I apply for one under my trade license?
4. Are there any risks or liabilities for my business if they do not hold their own trade license?
5. Would it be more compliant to employ them instead? If so, what are the costs and requirements for doing so?
I want to ensure my business fully complies with UAE law.

Can the wife file for maintenance in the UAE after judgement in home country? 0
My wife and I are non-Muslims. Divorce was settled in our home country court which decided that I am the custodian of the children and no alimony has to be paid to her.
Children are living with me here in the UAE. However, she still resides here in the UAE using a tourist visa. She is planning to file a Maintenance Case against me in the UAE Family Court.
Can she do that?
Am I obliged to pay her alimony?

View allCan you enter Dubai if you leave a GCC country with possible civil and criminal cases? 0
Hi Hayyan,
In 2014 I had been to Qatar on a "Work-Business" visa valid for 30 days. Before my visa expiration, I fled from Qatar back to India without informing the sponsor or office management.
After I returned to India, I received an email from HR stating that the Qatari sponsor has filed an absconding case, a civil case, and a criminal case against me with the Ministry of Interior in Qatar.
Now my question is, can I travel to Dubai on a work visa?
Will there be any issue entering Dubai assuming that the Qatari sponsor has filed the said cases against me?
Awaiting your response,
H.

Help with drafting service provider agreement for marketplace tech startup 0
We are a tech startup creating the first auto/car service and repair marketplace.
As a marketplace, we only facilitate listing and booking the services while the service providers (the workshops) are the service providers and are responsible to deliver and carry the selected /booked job.
We need to draft a marketplace supplier/service provider agreement between us and the workshops outlining the responsibilities and liabilities of both sides.
I would like to work with a law firm that has previous experience in drafting such marketplace-related agreements.
