How to defer bank payments of mortgage due to COVID-19
Good morning
My husband lost his job last year in October after 15 years in Dubai. He continued to pay his mortgage without giving any excuse to the bank till now when COVID-19 happened. He is on my visa. We want to defer mortgage payments for a few months.
Kindly advise what should we write to the bank in this regard as they are demanding the payment now. We received the email this morning.
I would like to mention that we have been paying the mortgage regularly.
Best Regards

Dear questioner,
You can request the bank to defer the instalment for the next few months so that you can continue the payment due to default.
In this scenario where everybody is facing some or other financial problems, banks are ready to defer the payment on case to case basis.
If need be, kindly contact us by phone for a detailed discussion or write to us at our email for further assistance.

Dear Questioner,
If your husband is jobless, he needs to inform the bank about it and submit his cancellation paper. Therefore he can request the bank to defer the instalment for next months.
In case you need us to write the request letter to the bank, please feel free to contact me at our email.

You need to contact the bank to ask for payment settlement regarding the situation of Corona.
For further information please contact us on our email.
Dear Questioner,
Simply, your husband should submit the cancellation paper to the bank as a solid proof of quitting his job.
Then, he should ask the bank to defer the instalments until he gets a new job or after six months to start payment.
If the bank refuses that way, please feel free to contact me by phone.
Thanks.
