Recovering a personal debt without written agreement
Hi.
I would like to inquire how much do you charge for a consultation because I need some legal assistance regarding loaned money.
Someone owes me a big amount of money, AED 51,000 to be exact. I lent them an amount of AED 60,000 which they would pay on a monthly basis for 24 months.
However, after 3 months of paying, they haven’t paid until now. I would like to get a quote on how much would it cost to have a legal assistance in such case like this.

We can assist you to start a claim for the above-mentioned amount.
You will have to present a proof of your claim, for example, services and materials supply contract, Invoices, proof of delivery of materials and services, emails or letters correspondences between you and the other person that you give for the loaned person.
We can start by sending IPTL, a formal legal notice, if they do not respond we can proceed with taking a formal legal action against them before the Dubai Civil Court.
Of course, we will have to see the contract to understand if you have chosen a different jurisdiction to regulate your relationship.
All the documents have to be legally translated into Arabic as the official language of the country. Average legal translation cost is AED 50 per page. The Court fees based on the claim will be around AED 3000.
