Unpaid loan in Dubai and its effect on working in GCC
17
Q: I've taken a loan of AED 65000 in 2005 and left Dubai in the same year after the job was lost.
When I approached the bank, they insisted for one-time payment which I could not afford from India.
Now, I got an offer from Oman. Can I travel to Oman with this outstanding loan in Dubai? Will I be caught in Oman?
I want to find out if I am blacklisted or a police case pending against me.
Kindly suggest.

Is it possible to get arrested in other GCC countries because of a loan in the UAE?
7
Q: Good day!
I have a personal loan in the UAE, which I haven’t finished paying yet.
I’ve never missed any payment when I was still working there back in 2018. I had to go back to my home country and fix some of my personal problems.
I was planning to go back to work again in any GCC countries except the UAE because I want to first clear my loan from there and head back soon.
Is it possible I’ll get arrested in other GCC countries because of my loan in the UAE?
I got a job offer and I want to settle that loan ASAP.
Please advice!

I lived in the UAE and then came back to my home country. I have 3 credit cards outstanding around AED 25K with UAE banks and now I want to travel to the UK.
So the question I have is whether transiting via Doha airport is safe or not.
Do they arrest or detain me in Doha for the outstanding I have with UAE's bank credit card?

Can I work in other countries besides the Middle East if I have a loan in the UAE?

1
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I worked in the UAE, and unfortunate events occurred. I went back home without submitting a proper resignation and didn't have a chance to pay back my credit card since 2011.
I applied for work in Saudi Arabia and found out that I'm blacklisted or have a travel ban anywhere in the Middle East.
Can I work in any other country besides the Middle East?

I have a personal loan. When is a travel ban supposed to be issued?

5
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I have a personal loan, and I received an offer in another non-GCC country.
I approached the bank, and the representative informed me that I can make payments from outside, and the bank will initiate legal action only if two consecutive months are unpaid.
However, I want to know if the bank will issue a ban immediately after receiving the final settlement, or if they can only file a case if the security cheque bounces for two consecutive months.

Getting a new employment visa while a cheque bounce case is being processed 3
Hi All,
I have an existing criminal "cheque bounce" case under my name for dishonoring loan payments. I'm also a victim of unpaid salaries and gratuity from the previous employer.
However, I have reached a stalemate in negotiating with the bank as they are not interested in accepting the money I could offer in the interim despite having a clear understanding of my predicament.
Finally, I have an offer from a company after all these months and I'm anticipating to accept this offer but I'm yet to resolve the criminal case!
Since the bank is not willing to negotiate, I've planned to pay the criminal case removal fee or fine to the Dubai Police. I know that the bank would immediately proceed with a civil case should that happen.
My question is how long does it take to file a civil case? And can they initiate a travel ban without appeal while filing the civil case in court?
Will it affect my capacity to get a new employment visa stamped and work in the UAE while the civil case is active?

If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country? 2
Hi.
One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task."
He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know."
After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station.
They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go.
After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems?
If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country?
Please advise!

How can we locate a person with an ongoing legal case? 1
Hello,
I am seeking your legal advice regarding a friend who was previously imprisoned in Abu Dhabi. His case there is now closed, but he has another ongoing case in Dubai.
Currently, we have lost contact with him and are unsure of his whereabouts. How can we check where he is or access any other legal facility?
Are there legal procedures to locate a person with an ongoing case?
What steps should we take to get more information about his status and legal position?

How to file a case against my former company for unpaid salary I was not on their visa? 0
Dear Legal Advice Middle East,
I hope you are well.
I am seeking legal advice regarding an unpaid salary issue with my former employer, [-----]2 LLC. I was employed with them from December 4, 2024, to January 7, 2025, on a monthly salary of 5,000 AED.
However, I only received a partial payment of 2,473 AED on February 24, 2025. The remaining 2,527 AED is still unpaid.
I submitted a complaint to MOHRE on March 2, 2025, but I am unable to proceed further through their official channels.
This is because I was working under the visa of my previous employer, [---] LLC, and not under [----]’s sponsorship.
As a result, I do not meet the criteria to file a labor complaint via the MOHRE app or hotline.
Given this situation, I would appreciate your guidance on how I can legally pursue the recovery of my remaining salary, considering the complications related to my visa status during the employment.

What can a company do if an employee agrees to stay but then stops reporting to work? 0
Hello,
My employee provided a resignation. Our company offered a salary raise and made a deal with him where he agreed to continue with us, but it’s not on paper.
He suddenly stopped coming to work, stating he doesn’t want to work anymore.
What rights do we have as a company, and what can we do about it?
