Q: Last October 2017, my security cheque for my personal loan bounced because I was two months delayed.
When I found out that my cheque bounced, I coordinated with the bank, and they advised me that I need to submit a new cheque and new salary transfer certificate to them and they won't file a case.
I submitted the required documents and paid some amount as well. Last February 21, 2018, I was planning to go to Georgia for vacation and I was arrested due to a case filed by the bank.
I was surprised because I knew that they will not file a case and no one from the bank informed me that I have a case.
The case was filed last November 12, 2017, and I even had communication with the bank for loan re-structuring and during that time they didn't even tell me that I have a case.
I paid AED 10k fine for the case. I was really disappointed by the bank gesture. Why would I go to Georgia if I know that I have a case? I almost spent 5 days in jail.
Please let me know your advice.
Thank you very much.

Will the bank file a case for stoppage after resuming loan payments

0
Q: I have taken a finance loan from a bank and was paying continuously as it was automatically debited from my salary account associated with the bank.
Due to my pregnancy, I have unpaid leaves and now it's 4 months pending. For 6 months, my salary wasn't credited but every 2.5 months I paid 1 instalment in these 6 months.
Last month, I resumed work and from last month salary started paying again into DIB account and they have taken 1.5-months instalment.
Meanwhile, last week they deposited a cheque which was given during the loan process and it bounced.
So is there any chance a case is filed even though I started paying my instalment again?

Filing a civil case against the debtor after payment of loan
1
Q: A civil case and a travel ban were filed against me by a loan shark. I already paid the capital amount of AED 8,000 plus another AED 8,720 interest (For a total of AED 16,720.00).
But he deposited my cheque and bounced for AED 17,000 as he is still claiming for additional interest caused by the delay of payments I made. I have all the receipts kept with me as proofs that I made the payment deposits to his bank account.
Please advise how to proceed with this civil case and lift the travel ban. There is no hearing scheduled and no warrant of arrest yet.
Thank you.

How can I make sure I can enter the UAE if I paid my entire pending loan after leaving?

0
Q: Hi
I was in the UAE in 2019 and there was a 25k loan balance. For one and a half years, I did not pay the loan and moved to Qatar.
In 2023, I paid the amount in a single shot and the bank sent me an email regarding payment.
I'm coming to Dubai on a tourist visa. If the bank filed a case, will I face any problems at the airport?
I don’t know if the bank filed a case. I have all the documents regarding loan closures. Is there any problem with coming to the UAE on a tourist visa?

If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country? 2
Hi.
One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task."
He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know."
After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station.
They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go.
After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems?
If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country?
Please advise!

Bank filed a civil case over a loan: Better to settle with the bank or in court? 1
Good day, Sir,
I have received a message from the Dubai Court stating that a bank has filed a civil case against me. The loan has been pending since February 2019.
I cleared the cheque bounce case earlier with a court fine in 2019. I am looking forward to a minimum settlement plan with the bank. The outstanding amount was around 70,000 AED, and now the message is for 115,000 AED.
What will be the best way for me to proceed: approaching the bank or dealing with it in court?
Best regards,

Demanding that an employee pay for visa charges a year after resigning 1
Dear Lawyers,
I worked at a bakeshop here in Dubai. I resigned exactly one year ago. Now they want me to pay for visa charges, as stated in the offer letter.
If I cannot pay for the charges, my employer will claim financial loss due to the damages, estimated to be at least 7,000 AED.
What should I do about this? My monthly salary is only 2,800 AED.

How to file a case against my former company for unpaid salary I was not on their visa? 0
Dear Legal Advice Middle East,
I hope you are well.
I am seeking legal advice regarding an unpaid salary issue with my former employer, [-----]2 LLC. I was employed with them from December 4, 2024, to January 7, 2025, on a monthly salary of 5,000 AED.
However, I only received a partial payment of 2,473 AED on February 24, 2025. The remaining 2,527 AED is still unpaid.
I submitted a complaint to MOHRE on March 2, 2025, but I am unable to proceed further through their official channels.
This is because I was working under the visa of my previous employer, [---] LLC, and not under [----]’s sponsorship.
As a result, I do not meet the criteria to file a labor complaint via the MOHRE app or hotline.
Given this situation, I would appreciate your guidance on how I can legally pursue the recovery of my remaining salary, considering the complications related to my visa status during the employment.
