Obtaining a police clearance certificate for immigration purposes

I am an ex-resident in Dubai and been there for approximately 6.5 years. I left Dubai in Apr 2015 due to family reasons and haven't paid a loan and credit card.

Now, if I need a police clearance certificate for me, will that certificate make me go through the process?

If I am planning to file a PR to Canada for that purpose, will the UAE Embassy issue me the PCC with a clear record or?

Kindly advise.

Dear Questioner,

Thanks for writing to me.

From the above description, I understand that you have unpaid loan and credit card dues in the UAE. Since you are looking for a PR in Canada, you require a PCC from the UAE.

Please note that to obtain a PCC, we have to make sure that there are no criminal cases against you.

If there are no cases against you, well and good, you may apply for PCC. If you have a valid Emirates ID card, it is easier to get it.

If there are complaints or cases against you and a blacklisting, you will have to take steps to settle the case first and then apply for the PCC.

Please feel free to write to me at my email if you need any further information, assistance or guidance on the above.

Thank you.
