Possibility of requesting cash instead of repatriation ticket

If the company policy is only to allow a ticket back home but not encashment, can the employee still insist to get cash?

It has been mentioned in the employment contract that only a ticket will be allowed not a cash equivalent.

In this case, it is better to get the ticket because you can not force the employer to give you the cash allowance.
