Criminal and civil liability for unpaid loans in the UAE

Thanks for writing to me.

I understand that you had undergone a month of imprisonment during 2012 for a cheque bounce matter. I believe that your criminal liability is over and the criminal case is closed.

As explained above you are now concerned about a civil case for the same transaction. We cannot completely rule out the chance of a civil case. Have you surrendered the car?

However, I would advise you to check and confirm the existence of any sentence on you pertaining to a criminal or civil case.
