How to settle a bank debt in the UAE to return on employment visa
Hello there,
Need urgent advice, please.
I have defaulted on my credit card in Dubai for AED 250K almost since 2019.
I'm out of the country since then. The bank submitted the cheque to police in early 2020.
How can I resolve this with the bank, especially that I'm offered a job in the UAE that can help me pay my debt?
Will I be able to get an employment visa so I can work and pay the bank?
Will I get arrested if I enter now?
Please advise on what to do.
Dear Questioner,
First of all, you have to be sure that as long as the bank registered the criminal complaint against you for the cheque, your name is banned over all the borders in the UAE.
In relation to that, you will never be able to get a visa or even a labour card until you resolve this issue.
Second, we can assist you legally to solve this problem with the bank before the police and criminal court by providing us with a POA to be able to represent you and act on your behalf to release your ban as well.
If you're interested with the aforementioned, please feel free to send us a copy of your passport to our email address.
Thanks.

If the bank has registered a criminal case against you, you would have to clear it first by paying fines.
You can do that with the help of a lawyer by giving them a POA. After that, they may issue a clearance paper.

Dear Questioner,
As a preliminary step, we need to check whether the bank has filed any criminal or civil case against you in the UAE.
We would require a Power of Attorney from you for obtaining the details of the cases registered against you in the UAE.
If after performing the search we find out that the bank has filed a criminal case against you in the UAE, then you need to clear fines. And if a travel ban has been imposed on you, then we can help you in removing the ban.
After appropriate steps are taken and the case is cleared, you can apply for an employment visa.
Please contact me on my phone or write to me on email for detailed discussion and assistance in this regard.
Thanks
