Refund of security deposit from the landlord at the end of tenancy
I have vacated my flat in the first week of February. The old tenant made so many changes in the flat and the landlord knows about this one.
They told me that they will not charge me. It was in 2016. Now, they refused to pay my security deposit back because they don't have any proof whether they deducted from the old tenant or not.
What can I do?
Please help.

Dear Questioner,
As per the relevant law, the landlord has to return the security deposit when the tenant returns the home in the exact same condition.
I believe you can dispute this matter in the RERA. Let the landlord prove that the changes were made by you.
From the facts described above, both parties don't have any proof to show their case. The court has to decide based on the available evidence.
Thank you.
