Q: My brother had a personal loan of 300k.
He lost his job, and the company terminated him, and his visa was cancelled, so he moved back home in 2015. He is trying to find a job back in the UAE.
Is there any way to get him cleaned, paying the court fine?
The bank he had a loan with has been merged with other groups, and he doesn't know who to contact.
Repayment is impossible without a job, and finding a job at the age of 50 is not an easy task.
Appreciate your advice.
Thanks

Can I close my UAE fixed deposit remotely with a POA if I can't travel?

1
Q: Hello,
I am outside the UAE and canceled my UAE residency 2 years ago. I have an ENBD account with a fixed deposit of 10,000 AED and a credit card linked to that fixed deposit.
Both were suspended a few months ago due to not having residency in the UAE. I want to close the fixed deposit because I need the money now, but I cannot travel to the UAE at the moment.
If I give someone (or a lawyer) power of attorney, can they go to the bank branch and close the fixed deposit for me? I have no cases against me, no outstanding loans, and the credit card balance is fully paid.
The bank informed me that I must first close the credit card, then wait 45 days before closing the fixed deposit in person at the branch. However, I cannot go to the UAE for the next 6 months.
How much would the process cost if I do a POA and hire a lawyer?

I am involved in a police investigation due to an accident that happened at work.
I was not on the site; however, because I am the region manager, I am automatically involved in the case.
I potentially got an opportunity to work for a different company.

My wife lost a divorce case for no harm and filed an appeal now. What can I do? 0
My wife filed a divorce case due to harm. It was rejected as there was a reconciliation between us, and she took back the police complaint. That's why the court rejected her case.
Now she filed an appeal with the same allegation without any new incident or any new evidence. There is no police report or medical report in the appeal court.
She made many wrong allegations, which I defended; however, tomorrow we have the judgment.
If her appeal is accepted and the previous judgment is reversed, what are my options?
Can I file an appeal in the appeal court, or do I have to go to a higher court, as the first judgment was in my favor?
And if her appeal got rejected, what are the options she will have?

Can the hospital force me to pay more money for emergency claiming that treatment exceeds insurance limit? 0
We went to the hospital for an emergency and stayed for 3 days, then, before leaving, they asked us to pay 10% as per our insurance policy.
After 2 weeks, they informed us that the insurance policy covers only 2k, and we have to pay 3.2k, the balance I was not informed about before.
Then, they sent the invoice to debt collectors to warn us
What shall we do now?
I read that they have to tell us about the cost in advance.
Can this debt collector sue us?

My husband's family want to send me and my kids back to my country. What to do? 0
Hi
My husband is working in his uncle’s company in Dubai with a salary of AED 8,000 monthly. I am not earning. During the 12th board, they told us to go to India, but we said we did not want to go.
Before, one time we went, so my husband’s uncle told him not to pay the rent, saying once they come to the road, they will go to India. My husband kept on saying he would pay the rent.
One day we came to the road for not paying rent, and we stayed the whole night in the car, then went to a hotel. After that, the uncle’s family took us to their house to talk.
The kids did not want to go to their house because, for the last four years, they have threatened to cancel our visas.
So they stood on the road waiting for me and told me that if I didn’t want to go to India, then he would pay rent only for one year, and other than that, I should not ask him for anything.
He told me to write and sign that everything else I have to handle. I refused, and the uncle was yelling at me. I came out and waited for my husband for a long time, but he did not come, so we went to a hotel.
Now it has been 8 months, he is not giving any money for our expenses, and he took my savings of 25,000 AED by cheating.

My roommate assaulted me and tried to strangle me then she called the police claiming I attacked her. What to do? 0
I fought with my roommate. She started the fight by banging my head against the wall and strangling my neck.
I was unable to breathe and remove her hands, so in order to save myself, I bit her hand. I was new in the UAE and didn’t know how to call the police.
But she, being well aware of this, called the police, and the police are accusing me that you hit her, saying she had wounds.
But my right eye is under treatment, and I can’t see properly from that eye. My face has all wounds.

I got involved in a bar fight and wrongfully accused of assault and other charges. What to do? 0
I have a misdemeanor case under investigation. What can I do and what can I expect?
I got involved in a bar fight when my friend was punched in the face by the complainant. When I was about to approach him to ask him about it, he shoved me in the head.
I lost balance and I grabbed him, and we both fell down, then my friend and his colleagues started beating him.
CID called me for an interview, telling me that the guy complained about his watch, which I didn't steal. Then he also complained about the harassment. Which I didn't do as well.
Now, the report is saying that I have charges of indecent assault, public intoxication, causing a riot, and public cursing.
Please help me decide what to do!
I'm considering hiring a criminal lawyer to help me with this.

What are the requirements with the personal status court if a custody agreement is proposed? 0
Please be informed that the first instance court provided the sole custody of the child to the father.
Currently, there is an ongoing Personal Status and inheritance appeal, and the case is reserved for judgment, and only a few days are left.
We are non-Muslim expats. However, the mother is proposing mutual agreements.
1. Sole custody provided to the mother with limited visitation rights to the father upon mutual agreement.
2. Joint custody - where in mother will sponsor the visa and shared expenses. Such an agreement is possible at this stage through a digital identity channel.
Will it be allowed to be submitted to the court and acknowledged in front of the Judge?
Is it recommended, considering the best interest of the child?
What are the rights of the father in case of an agreement, if a sole custody or a joint custody agreement is made between both parties?
Kindly advise.

I received a verdict on my personal name for my company unpaid rent without proper notification. What to do? 0
Hello, our business has unpaid rent.
1. The 30-day notice named my business but also wrongfully named my private name, while the rental contract is solely under the business name. I'm sure it was done in bad faith by the landlord to try to damage me personally.
2. After the 1st notice, I expected an RDC notification, and nothing came. I just logged in today on my app and saw that a verdict was pronounced on the 21st of August in this case, without me even getting an email, messages, or notification at the office to even appear at the 1st instance!
How can this be handled?
First of all, this rental situation should not involve my private name as the company is the sole tenant on this contract, and second, no notifications were ever sent to me, although at the office every day!
Here is my WhatsApp for whoever knows what to do to successfully dispute these tricks by this landlord.

What are the rules in the UAE for making tele-sales calls to introduce our services? 0
Greetings of the day!
We’re planning to have interns assist with tele-sales, specifically calling individuals who inquired about cars on other platforms, to introduce our services.
Could you please advise on:
1. Permitted calling hours in the UAE
2. Any consent or legal requirements for contacting these leads
3. Key compliance points we should consider.
We want to ensure everything is done in line with UAE regulations.
Thank you.

Legal advice needed on out-pass exit permit & spouse visa process 0
Subject:
Hello,
My name is M. R. F. Z., a Sri Lankan national currently in Dubai. I urgently require legal guidance regarding my immigration status and next steps. Briefly:
An out-pass was issued without my knowledge due to visa complications.
I need to exit the UAE on this out-pass and explore options to return on a visit visa, then adjust status to a spouse residence visa (by status change).
I am uncertain whether it is mandatory for me to fly back to Sri Lanka, or if I can exit to a nearby country such as Oman or another GCC country and re-enter for the spouse visa process.
Due to family circumstances, it is very difficult for me to travel to Sri Lanka at this time, so I would strongly prefer the nearest country option if legally possible.
Could you please let me know if your firm handles such cases?
If so, what is your consultation fee and availability for an initial discussion?

I got deported after I was caught working on visit visa due to delaying my employment visa. Can I lift the ban? 0
Sir,
I came to Dubai in 2011 on a visit visa and got a job in a company in Dubai, which delayed my employment visa.
One day, a government representative visited our office and took my passport. Later on, I was deported and got a ban forever, although I paid an AED 1000 fine as well.
Is there a way to lift this ban, as I didn't commit any crime?
It's just because of that company that delayed my visa.
Please suggest.

Unfortunately, I was unable to cancel my visa due to an arrest warrant arising from non-payment issues linked to the company I was previously employed with.

At present, I am no longer employed by the Company. My labour card has been cancelled.
I have not received my final settlement or end-of-service benefits.
I am a single mother sponsoring a child, and urgently need to regularize my visa status to be able to work again.

My father left the UAE and left his car with his cousin to continue loan payments. How to check his status 0
Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I am planning to bring my father to Dubai for a visit. He left Dubai in 2009 due to serious medical reasons and left his car with his cousin, with an outstanding bank installment for the car, which was around AED 10,000. We subsequently cancelled his visa.
It has been over 10 years, and I am concerned about potential fines or travel bans, as we are unsure if the remaining car payments were completed by his cousin. We are not on speaking terms with his cousin, so I cannot confirm this.
I found that checking fines or travel bans usually requires an Emirates ID, but my father left Dubai before Emirates IDs were introduced and only has his passport. The company he worked for also no longer exists.
Could you please advise if there is another way to check for fines?
Kind regards!
