Can the building management ask me to pay the one-year expenses for non-registration of Ejari?
My building asked the tenants to register for the empower portal after 1 year of tenancy.
After my lease renewal, I asked the management team to provide me the Ejari and they stated I have to pay for the non-registration period (the 1 year before empowering registration) to the landlord, otherwise, I won't get the Ejari.
Am I supposed to pay for that period?
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question, I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.
Whether you are supposed to pay for the period before registering with the empower portal depends on your lease agreement's terms.
Check your lease agreement for details regarding utility payments, and if in doubt, consult with your landlord or building management to clarify the payment arrangement for that period.

Thank you for reaching out with your inquiry regarding the Ejari registration and the associated fees. I understand the importance of clarity in such matters, and I'm here to provide guidance.
In your situation, it appears that the management team is requesting payment for the non-registration period (the first year before the Empower portal registration) to proceed with your Ejari.
To provide a more accurate response, I would need to review your lease agreement and any specific terms related to Ejari registration.
However, in general, the Ejari registration is typically an annual requirement, and the responsibility for payment may vary based on the terms agreed upon in your lease.
I recommend checking your lease agreement for any clauses related to Ejari and associated costs.
Additionally, it would be beneficial to engage in a discussion with your landlord to better understand their perspective on this matter and negotiate a mutually agreeable solution.
If you have any further details or documents you can share with me, I would be happy to provide more specific advice tailored to your situation.
Feel free to reach out to me via WhatsApp or phone to discuss this matter further.
